Based upon some of the comments I have seen here today, there are very few, atheists committed to "to the use of critical reason, factual evidence, and scientific methods of inquiry." It is amazing how frightened they are of engaging in legitimate debate.

As a starting point, reason, evidence, and scientific methods are fine; they are just not the limit of things; true faith (in God) goes beyond those three in this life; past, present, and future.

I am indeed even my religion is science based
and we test everything we do with great scrutiny
even on a personal level in regards to my beliefs.. i dont accept anything until it has been tested and meets my approval
solving human problems should be done with logic ... not faith

I balance reason and faith. They can successfully so-exist within a rational mind.
