Not without good reason - but you may just have one, so give it a try.

I'm sure you would be able to, just visit the surgery that you are interested in joining, if they have the services you wish i.e. female GP's and a family planning service ask to register with them. You will have to fill a form in so that the new practice can get your notes but you shouldn't have to wait long before you get to see a practitioner there. Good luck.

it all depends on how full the new doctors surgery is, it might sway things in ur favour because this new surgery has got a service which ur current doctor hasnt got. it does help if ur have got a family member who is at the new doctors, it is so much more simple to change over then.
good luck.

Yes you can. There is a list of local GPs on Up my street, on the internet.

Yes. You should have a National Health Registration Card. Take that to your new choice of GP, but they are not obliged to accept you.

yep you can change to another gp but it might take a while to find one currently looking for new patients. and your gp has to offer family planning and contraceptive advice i thought it was the law??? they dont have to have a dedicated clinic but i thought they had to offer pill advice etc...

If there is another one in your area, you should be able to do so. Just go to the other and inform them of your position and problem and they will be able to advise you as what you have to do to change over.

find a surgery that you like,go in & ask if they are taking new patients-take your NHS card with you, or send the card back to your Healthcare Trust & request a transfer
