they work if you do them. that's pretty much what it boils down to. any workout plan, including dvds, will not work if you don't do them on a consistent schedule (ie. at least 3 or 4 times a week); it is also helpful to make sure that the amount of calories you eat is less than the amount of calories that you burn with your workouts. and drink lots of water.

It depends on the workout dvd. They are not all created equally. Try it out and see if you work up a good sweat! If you're getting your heart rate up, then it might be pretty good. Even then, it depends on your situation and goals. It is also imperative that you stick to them once you've chosen the dvd. The biggest weakness of the dvd workout is that most people will eventually not bother to get up to put the dvd in. There is little incentive aside of your own will power. For more information on your personal health needs, it is advisable that you talk to your doctor.

They work fine for the company you buy them from. And they will work for you if you do them. well maybe. Start walking, rideing a bicycle, chop wood, rearrange furniture, take breaks, dont overdo it and drink plenty of water.
I could say ride this Excersize Bike with ME! or Cmon lets pretend we are chopoing wood, thats good! chop, chop, chop, now the cool down, back on the bicycle but tghis time we are going for a slow ride in the park.
This can all be yours for $49,95

Yes, as long as you do it 4-5 times per week and also cut down on what you eat. The mathematical equation of calories in vs. calories out ALWAYS works....

No. You have to do the work while the DVD just plays. Sorry -- couldn't resist.
