OK, I happen to know the owner of this company... here is the deal. It is lefit in that you can win prizes. The way they make their money is everyone who submits a poem, whether they win or not, their poem gets published.
You will then get a letter from the company asking if you want to buy the book which contains your poem. Most people freak out at haviong been published and buy tons of books, for themslevs and their familys.
So yes it legit, but thats the behind the scene scoop.

I once happened upon that site and decided that I would write a little something. I suppose it wasn't a terrible poem or anything, but it was only a few lines, not anything spectacular for sure, but they still seemed to think it was "wonderful" and wanted to publish it and such. I thought it was a little strange that they took to some lines I wrote in about a minute and a half and put no thought behind. I can't say for sure if people make real money off the site, but I do know that they want to publish your poem in a book so that you will BUY said book.

It is legit, I've won 3 times, but I have a lot of friends who have submitted and never won. But it is very good. You should also try Poetryamerica.com they are good. I won 1 award there. There are a lot more places, like poetrypoems.com that give you websites for your poems. Umm try going to google.com and putting in Poetry contests you'll find a lot fo Free places to submit poems. Oh and you don't have to pay for the book! You can just enter you poem in it. Plus the book is cheap.

Everyone wins a certificate. It's a scam to get you to buy a book with your "prizewinning" poem in it.

no. they publish everybody's poems and then sell the books to the people that were published. its just a way to make money. they do it with photos too
