For the past 3 years, I have only bought diet sodas, after trying to cut back calories and sugar. Someone told me that drinking a diet soda that is clear, such as Fresca, is better for you than drinking a dark soda, such as Diet Coke. Is there a difference?

Well, there are no artificial caramel colorings in a clear soda like Fresca, Diet Sprite or Diet 7Up, if that is important to you.

I personally cannot drink Fresca because it affects the fillings in my teeth and I get a sharp, metallic taste in my mouth.

I am a loyal Diet A&W Root Beer drinker. I drink so much of it I should buy stock in the company!

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://tinyurl.im/aHLuL

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

"Dark" usually = caffeine, but that isn't true for all flavors of diet Mountain Dew, which also are uppers!

Diet soda CAN make you hungrier / thirstier, so I usually chug water before and after.

Fresca has fruitier flavors, and feel free to read into that.

I really like Fresca. Find a good water, that would be the best. Try good water with lemon or lime in it! and crushed ice. Wish I had some now!

I don't know if there's a difference. But I've heard that diet sodas are bad for you. There are other 0 cal drinks..tons. Some diet snapples, flavored waters, diet ice teas and stuff.

diet cola's contain poisons known as aspartame (equal, NutraSweet) which make you gain weight by overtaxing the pancreas and liver ( they don't know what to do with it) and cause central nervous system damage among other things (I've included a link), saccharine which causes cancer, or sorbital (the jury is still out on that one). Soda contains carbonation which causes deminieralization of the bones.

How about a nice glass of apple juice? Or tea with lemon and honey instead.

Dark colas will have things like artifical colors, while a clear soda doesn't. As fas as calories and sugar, there is no difference, so its really a case of are you concerned about industrial dyes and/or caffiene.
