Sitting too long with your feet hanging down can cause swelling, like a long car, bus or air trip, too much salt can cause it, heat, and several health issues, heart high blood pressure, kidney problems etc., cut back on the salt, you may need to lose some wt., more excercise, but best thing, get into the Dr., have some blood work and rule out the bad stuff, he will tell you what is wrong and how to correct it.

2 much blood flow 2 the feet will cause this. If u hurt ur feet most likely. also if u u have internal bleeding would do this. blood in the body flow down. the heart pumps it all over the body. The blood has 2 go somewhere and that is down because of gravity pulls down.

A possible cause is drinking, it affects your liver, and then some symptoms come along... Swollen feet for instance. Well, but still you should go see a doctor. Best Regards, Gabriel.

Rich food~the "Gout" will cause retention of water and the extremities will swell.
Salt intake and poor circulation and high blood pressure will cause swelling the the outer limbs as well.
Eating naturally dueritic foods will help, such as green tea, watermelon, and anything high in vitamin B.
If you have pain in any of the extremities, contact a doctor ASAP. Put your feet up and keep moving inbetween time to keep circulation flowing will help, to a point. Good health to you.

It sounds like your body is holding water...I don't know what age you are...but if you are older, are not pregnant, have not been eating an over abundance of salt foods....then I would seek a Doctor's opinion...not to alarm you...but heart failure can cause one to start taking on fluid's...your heart might not be beating fast enough to take the fluid's out of your lungs...But if you are younger....maybe you have been eating way too many salty foods through the holidays....Good luck.

Lots of things can cause it. Too much salt intake, poor circulation, congestive heart failure, and standing on your feet too long. If you have noticed that you have gained a significant amout of weight you really need to see a doctor to see what the cause is so it can be treated. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ANY SHORTNESS OF BREATH. . . . .GO IMMEDIATELY.
