I know! I know! Photoshop handles everything. But at $300-500 it's not an option. I just want the basics. I'm a newbie but still want to be able to tweak my pics.

Thanks!

Go to Zdnet.com. Click on downloads and in keywords type in photo editing. You will get a list of software, all with ratings, and a free trial versions for download. You can upgrade to full permanent copy for less than a package version once you determine that you like it.

Do you have a digital camera? There should have been software that is beginner that came with it? Otherwise Windows XP has a some already installed on it! But, something should come with your printer and your camera. It is pretty easy, it should be a windows based point and click kind of program, and should have great wizards! Good Luck!!

I use Photoshop Elements. It is a wonderful piece of starter software that goes a pretty long way if you take the time to learn its tricks. Otherwise I suggest PhotoImpact, a program I used when I was younger, which is not as orthodox but still is pretty easy to learn and has great, useful quirks.
Good luck!

Hey Greywolf,

Picasa has turned out to be quite nice for free from Google. Being a YAHOO freak, I usually don't recommend google, but this works great.

I use PaintShopPro. It's about $100 new if you buy online or you can get it cheap off ebay for an older version. Any version 7 and up is good.
