The life insurance is currently $400,000. Soldiers have the option of only having $250,000 coverage if they wish to only pay for that amount. If the soldier is married, the wife will recieve a monthly support amount, im not sure of the amount, and each child of the soldier is entitled to support money monthly. The wifes benifits stop if she re marries i think. The childrens stops at 18. Thats from what i understand.

That depends on what the soldier selected on his DD93/SGLI.
The base benefit is 250,000 (up from 12,500 when the war first began, you can thank the VFW andAUSA for there lobbying efforts) plus whatever the soldier elected to purchase for life insurance up to an additional 250,000.

It also depends on the amount they elected. Some soldiers elect to have the lowest amount of life insurance because they feel invincible and they don't want so much taken from thier paycheck.
