Iused ccleaner on my daughters comp.as part of a clean up process and then tried to restore it to an earlier time, October, but then I kept getting the msg,it could not restore it to this time. I tried several restore dates but still no good. Have I deleted something i should`nt have?

Programs like Ccleaner typically empty out "unneccesary" systems files, such as the restore points used in system restore. So yes, you probably deleted them.

Alternate Answer: Your trying to go all the way back to October? Restore programs usually don't hold restore points that far back. Try restoring her to a week ago. (Although I still say the cleaner program wiped the restore points out)

It's possible that the System Restore service is disabled. To check, right click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties' from the menu. Once the System Properties window is loaded, click the 'System Restore' tab. Is the box "Turn off system restore" checked? If so, it was turned off before CCleaner had ever been used which takes the blame off you.

you people have to be carefull on using these things because the program doesn't care what it takes out or what it thinks is junk you're gonna notice that flash player doesn't work properly either anymore so if it doesn't go to the flash site and search for the un-install for it run it and then go back to re-install it, there's a free program called "Advanced Windows Care" download that and run it don't worry there's no ad-ware in it run it but take your time look through what it come back with if it says it's invalid get rid of it and so on
