I feel good about the Vatican - one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

But it being Caligula's summer home is a crock. The Vatican is built on a former "circus" - oval amphitheater, a forerunner of the Colosseum - not a summer home.

Where did you here that? That's not true. While the Vatican Obelisk was brought there during Caligula's reign, it was never a summer home for anyone.

Really?

Caligula dies in the year 40.

The construction of the palace that sits there today did not start until 1450?

Caligula's summer home? I don't think so.

wow, imagine all the weird sex.
Caligula's was pretty bonkers but I loved the way he marched serveral legions to the English Channel and all the legionairs thought they where going to invade the Britions but when they got to the beach Caligula order them to collect see shells and then they walked all the way back to Rome with their pretty sea shells.
hehe, so peaceful, maybe Caligula was really Jesus!

I am not Catholic but I think the remodeling and interior design efforts of several dozen popes has marked a significant improvement.

That's Christianity in a nutshell, turning something evil into something good.

Perhaps it will work with you?
