My boyfriend proposed to me on Christmas day and I would like to start doing a bit of research for the wedding. Can anyone suggest any good websites related to the subject? I'm starting from scratch so the more info the better!

Hitched.co.uk is great.
My daughter got married last October and we used them a lot.
Also we found that a lot of hotels and other wedding venues now do all inclusive packages which helps loads.
Our daughter got married at Barnsgate Manor Vineyard near Uckfield they organised everything and loads of people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Because they do weddings every week they know exactly how to make the day special. All we had to do was get our clothes. Send out invites and organise cars and a cake they did absolutely everything else. Except make the speeches.
Congratulations on your engagement, hope you will be very happy together.

There are a few I used during my wedding planning process. First, was www.theknot.com The forums are there are very helpful and they have a guestlist manager that I loved. Also, www.indiebride.com www.weddingchannel.com www.netbride.com (I bought my dress online from netbride for 1/2 the price).
Good luck planning and remember, those weddings in the magazines cost hundreds of thousands of dollars...it's possible to throw an elegant wedding without breaking the bank though.

Hi there,

In my opinion Weddingsday.co.uk (link attached) is the best one out there - it has the same level of info as ones such as confetti and hitched but is far more impartial and down to earth. It also has a much better set of free planning tools and is better to navigate.

Hope this helps and congratulations!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! I would reccommend:

TheKnot.com

It is SO informative! You can look up dresses, vendors & caterers in your area, and read tips/advice on how to plan the perfect ceremony and reception. They have great articles on choosing your colors, theme, and forums to talk to other couples planning a wedding. And lots of other great wedding advice and information.

Best of all, they have a month to month checklist and budget sheet.

I found wedding magazines really helpful and trying on lots of dresses to see what suits you. There is no point falling in love with a dress which doesn't suit you and your body shape.
