This is because when crisps were first invented in 1853, the inventor, George Crum, put a salt shaker next to the bowl of crisps in a pub, where he was seeing peoples rection to them. But someone kept stealing the salt shaker. So he decided to put the crisps in bags, with a small amount of salt wrapped up in paper inside the bag, so people could flavour their own crisps.

They probably do not do it deliberately. It just seems that way - gravitiy makes the blessed things fall down to the bottom. They are put in there to let people regulate the amount of salt they put on their crisps - though I am afraid my salt craving is worth than sugar craving or chocolate craving!!

Duh! becaus they're called Salt n'Shake. You open the bag of salt and shake it into the crisps. When I was young ALL crisps came this way. This is also why the "plain" flavour is called Ready Salted - you don't have to open the bag and salt the crisps!!!

It's not at the bottom, you're opening it the wrong way up.
