The master room is ensuite. The couple would like to go €700/400 and the single wants to split 3 ways (€366/732)
What is most fair for everyone?

The couple should both pay their way....The single person should only pay 1/3 of the cost....

It should be split by the number of people in the apartment. Years ago, there were 4 of us in a 3 bedroom apartment, one couple, 2 singles, of course the couple wanted everything split 3 ways, rent, utilities, even food! Foolishly, me and the other girl agreed at first. Then we realized we were getting the raw end of the deal. It caused a major riff when we said it should be split 4 ways.
The only reason for 3 roommates to split the cost by half is if the couple are Siamese twins.

It should be shared equally three ways. Obviously, the couple will probably pay together, especially if they have a joint bank account, but the single person in the apartment should pay 1/3 of the rent.

I would say that the only fair way would be to divide it equally between the 3 of you. They are a couple but are also 2 separate people so should pay rent as such.

I think that if a couple lives with a single person, that single person should be responsible for his/her fair share, and the couple should be in good understanding of what they are equally capable of in regard to rent. I hope this helps!

The most fair is to split 3 ways. I'd add in the common utilities too before splitting it tho (hot water, hydro, cable, etc).

But, whatever the 3 of you agreed to when you moved in, is the correct thing to do. It depends on who was there first I guess....

Couples occupied master room (with attached toilet) - then larger share

You occupied common room ( smaller share)

Unless three sharing equal size rooms.

If rent $600 - couple paid $400 , U paid $200

Power supply equally shared . (that also depends all room aircon) or not.

it depends on whether you are the single person or 1 of the couple .....

if you are the single person then you want a 3 way split
if you are part of the couple then you want to go halves with the single person
