I know birds like bird food but what other foods can they eat?

I have a bird and we ran out of bird food but i bought more i just want to know what other types of food a bird can eat so that incase we run out again we have other choices.

It is not good to feed birds people foods so make sure that you have a good supply of food. Birds are very susceptible to pesticides and washing fruits and veggies may not clean them completely.

Here is a short list of some fruits, veggies, and other foods: broccoli, spinach, kale, chard, peas, string beans, corn, carrots, yams, sweet potatoes, squash, peppers, tomatos, cellery, hard-boiled or scrambled eggs (with no seasoning), apples, pears, bananas, grapes, mangos, papayas, cherries, apricots, kiwi, melons, pineapple, pasta

Also millet, dried fruit too like papaya pineapple chunks dried coconut and so on that are mixed, they can be found in supermarkets and petshops

My tiel has a buffet everyday, plain pasta, but he won't eat it if I don't put salt in the water to boil. Red, yellow and green peppers, corn, peas. I used to give him cooked carrots also, but he started flinging them onto th tv screen. He loves unsalted crackers and popcorn. I just thought of something I have a pig!!! He eats boiled chicken, lettuce, apples, will bite me if I give him bananas! LOL, The main thing is go to the site that lists toxic food. Like cockatiel cottage. I just received an abandoned tiel who does not know anything but seed. She has just started tasting crackers and popcorn. Good luck

i have 2 cockatiels and if case we run out of bird food we can give them fruits and vegies but they have to be well washed and if your not sure just look up some info about your sweet bird. thats how i found out.

Birds can eat a variety of things, like bread, toast, bacon rind, nuts

Try different kinds of fruit and vegetables.
Strawberries apples and oranges seem to be favorites of my parakeet.
They also like to chew on lettuce.

some birds like frozen mix veg i feed tham to my birds some birds will eat what you eat a parkeet can not eat what you eat but it can have mix veg.
