Actually it should be between 22.5 and 25 gallons no more no less unless your truck has 2 tanks. You should also be able to find this in the owner's manual in the capacities section.

1997 was the year of the new, rounded body design and also the year they went from 2 tanks to 1 tank.... and that tank holds 35.7 US gallons of gas.
