And all that with a guy that you know for a long time.

Hopeless romantics will always be disappointed. There is no perfect place, although any event or location you choose to go to will have to qualify because that is were you went. As to what to talk about, no one can answer that. You talk about whatever is appropriate at the time. You've known the dude for a long time. Just because we call it a "date" doesn't mean that you talk about "the date" all night. You also don't assume that the first date will be romantic. It may or may not. And whether or not a kiss is appropriate after the date depends upon how the date went and whether or not it is a romantic date when you get back to your home. Sorry to burst your hopelessly romantic view of real life but that only happens in the movies.

Most first dates are clumsy and awkward affairs, mostly because each party is trying so hard to be perfect.
Relax. If its with the right person it doesn't matter if you go to Taco Bell; spill food on yourself; or get the hiccups just as he goes to kiss you. If he feels the same towards you, none of it will dim his pursuit (just provide for great stories later in life.)
Its the person, not the place, that makes a date memorable.

I don't believe in first date, let's get in the bedroom and take care of things. After date, that's gonna happen anyway then why wait?

First meet at his house, have a few drinks, go to a bar that has Kareoke, have a few more drinks and make him sing Kareoke to you, (if you see your ex, kick his/her's as.s with words... make them leave crying) come back to your house and lay down in bed and watch cartoon network and when they get ready to leave, give them a big long hug, thank them and kiss them like you mean it :) thats what i did to the girl thats going to be my wife ;)
