Its 6 points under the New Driver Act and your license is automatically removed.

So really once you get 3 points you better be careful.....

Quote:
This affects you if you first passed your driving test on or after 1 June, 1997.

If you reach six or more penalty points within two years of passing your driving test (ie during the probationary period), the Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) will automatically revoke your driving licence when notified by a court or fixed penalty office.

To regain your full licence you must then:

obtain a provisional licence
drive as a learner
pass the theory and practical test again

The amount they permit you to have before the licence is revoked is 12 points. You lose the licence for one year depending on the circumstances.
You have to sit a Driving Exam again just like you did when you first passed your test. If the points were received due to minor offences you lose the licence for one year, should the offences be major such as DUI or Undue Care, wreckless driving then the licence could be witheld between 5yrs and life.

This is so tough. I believe that it is a gross misapplication of scripture and that it clearly is child abuse. I also know that if it becomes illegal these folks will still do it because they'll "obey God rather than men." I believe other sorts of emotional and spiritual abuse occur in churches because of twisted scriptures. I think the people doing this need mental help. The thing is, they're convinced they're doing God's will and even the admonition of other Christians is unlikely to sway them. If it's illegal and they are arrested, they'll be martyred. I think efforts at helping people out of those sects would be more productive in the long run. Though I wouldn't oppose making it illegal.

Anybody that gets points within the first two years of acquiring their liscence, in my opinion, should automatically be banned from driving for a period of time, and ordered to retake their test.
It so obviously shows you learned bugger-all during your lessons.
