a long, very hot shower with lots of steam.
I'll also take a teaspoon of children's dimetap from time to time. It really seems to help with drainage.

Whatever you do DO NOT plug your nose and blow out your ears. That could rupture your ear drums and will only clog your ear further! Hydrogen Peroxide is also not recommended all it will do is dry out your outer ear. Your issue is with your inner ear. You should also be careful how far you insert a Q-tip. Several times a day breath in steam through you nose for about 10 min. and the sit for a bit with your head tilted slightly back and to the opposite side of the clogged ear. Also a decongestant may help. IBproufen will help with the pain. Also a very warm compress on your ear will help with pain. You may also want to see a doctor incase you do have an actual ear infection as you will need antibiotics.

You sound like you have an ear infection this is quite common when people have colds, as mucus builds up behind the ear drum and as there is mucus there it can get infected which causes your inner tube of your ear to inflame, and as it's inflamed it can't drain the infected mucus away so bacteria build up, hence the are infection, don't go poking anything into your ear as the ear canal is curved so when you poke a cotton bud in there for example, your not clearing anything out your actually hitting the side of the canal, causing it to bruise which can make the infection worse, go to your doctor and he will prescribe antibiotics, penicillin, eyrithromycin or fluoxacillian should clear it, take these as directed and should feel some relief in 48 hours

Use a heating pad - before it gets too hot place it over your ear and hold it there for a few minutes. But it sounds like you could have an ear or sinus infection. If it's painful, see a doctor.

You most likely have an ear infection, I would see a doctor for some antibiotics. It's only going to get worse if you don't.

I usually press my arms down on my ears and then pull them off. That works for a while. Swallowing also helps.

Hold your nose and take a breath then blow it out hard. Your ears should pop allowoing you to take that pressure off.

over the counter decongestants like Claritin D or pseudophed can help but you will have to ask the pharmacist for them even though you can buy them over the counter they legally have to keep them locked up because people abuse them (the meds not the pharmacists)
