Hi! I am starting a Christian Home School to give children a good Christian education from Kindergarten to 8th grade! There will be no "evolution" here! We will instead teach children the truth that is in the Bible! I would like some Federal and even State funding for this project. Where is the best state for such things and to where should I apply?

You are not a public school, so there can be no public funding. Thank heavens!

I'm sorry, but if it's not a public school, you can't get federal funding. You'll need to ask your church, or the other children's parents, to help support you. I think there is a right way and a wrong way to teach evolution. Teach them about the theory, at least, or else they won't be able to function in society and you may do more harm than good. Check out "The case for a Creator for Kids" for help there.

Hi, unfortunately there is no federal funding for any type of homeschool. At one time, there was a plan to try vouchers, so that our tax dollars could be spent any way we chose, but it got shot down in Congress.

Homeschooling laws vary by state. You should check with your school board to find out what laws apply where you live.

My friend, I know that you are trying to do a good thing. More power to you. But don't expect public assistance for a private enterprise.
Seek funding from private individuals, foundations, etc., to make up what your students are unable to pay.
Which will be a lot. It costs a lot to operate a high quality school.

As to curriculum, please understand that even if you wish to teach from a Christian perspective, your students need to learn ABOUT the other perspectives they WILL face when they leave you.
Students who are too sheltered from the world do not learn to cope with the opposition they will face when they go out to live in it.

Are you serious?

There is no funding of Christian schooling. I sent all my kids to christian school and I paid for it, that is the way it goes.

I don't think you can qualify for state or federal funding. That's only for public school.

Some places call these madrasas. But no, really. Homeschooling is yet another way the fundamentalists keep their kids uneducated. My former general manager at one radio station did that, and those kids are sorely lacking in a good education.

Please don't brain wash the poor children. Fund your own school. Ask Jesus for the money.
