it makes me feel really guilty that i'm thinking that way.

i also feel guilty for feeling so much anger.

but i also feel that i have a right to be angry.

anger, panic, depression, hopelessness, you name it, i'm feeling it, and i really would much rather be happy, and i'm taking steps to make my life more fulfilling. nothing is good enough though.

doesn't god love us and want us to feel happy?

i'm not "blaming god," i'm wondering why he created human beings that could feel so much anger. as for that little "practice self control" comment, you are talking to the wrong person!!! did you not read the whole post???!!!

Yes he does. And there wouldn't be anyone here in Yahoo R&S if they really didn't need this deep down in their spirit. Our salvation lifts the curse of Adam by accepting Jesus finished work on the cross. This sets of a war on our mind and body because we are now residents of Heaven and are still living in a fallen world. The only thing we know for sure is that if we follow Christ we will not have an easy ride through life. We cant even have a place to ask questions without all the worldly trolls attacking everything they can dream up to attack. Resentments will poisen you. Justified resentments can kill you. Hang in there. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

God is not the cause of your pain as God is Love. We create our own paths in life and the choices we make or don't make affect our present reality. Instead of wondering why God would let you feel the emotions you're feeling (which is not going to get you anywhere), start focusing on those things that create that negative environment in your life and make aggressive steps to change them and yourself. That will take discipline and many don't have it. It's not something that happens overnight. Anger, panic, depression, hopelessness - all those sound like effects of choice you've made in life and only you know what choices you've made.

The good thing is that each second is an opportunity to change your reality. Your mind can be your escape or your prison. It's for you to decide, not God. Now, if you can't control your depression, you may want to talk to a professional.

But I think knocking out a few bad habits will make you feel more in control of your life.

Good luck.

God never promised us happiness in this life. But He allows us to have all sorts of feelings because He loves enough to have given us free will. God doesn't want "robot worshipers". He wants people to chose Him, and I'm glad. I certainly wouldn't find any fulfillment in conversing with people who had no choice but to be good to me.

As far as your anger goes, sometimes anger is a righteous emotion. It depends on what you're angry about. Depression? That's something I deal with on a daily basis as I observe the state of the world and the hatred that lives in some people.

But you will find happiness in the life to come if you are living by faith and loving others. Peace.

I sure understand how you feel about being angry. I lash out and then feel so guilty way too often. I do not blame God, I blame myself. I try to meditate about my volatile reactions. I do know when I control my anger, even although I am feeling it, the result is better. If I do not rant and rage but try to calmly express my feelings to what ever the situation, the target of my rantings will usually listen and respond more positively.

Anger is a product of some judgment that you have made.

Simply put it is the result of a thought you are thinking.

Any thought that you can think can be thought in some other less harmful way.

This anger seems to be generated from external forces and their affects on you.

This is a misperception. All feelings of discontent are internally generated.

You need to realize this and analyze the way you are thinking. Make the necessary changes and you will see a difference.

Time to let it go.

Love and blessings Don

"If God is a God of love, why hasn’t He dealt with evil?"

In Dr. Robert Morey’s book The New Atheism and the Erosion of Freedom, he talks with an atheist about this issue. The atheist assumes that everything is relative, and there are no absolutes (he is absolutely sure of that). Morey replies that the first thing an atheist must do is prove the existence of evil. By what process can an atheist identify evil? He must have a universal absolute to do so. Without an absolute reference point for "good" (which only God can provide), no one can identify what is good or evil. Thus without the existence of God, there is no "evil" or "good" in an absolute sense. Everything is relative. The problem of evil does not negate the existence of God. It actually requires it.

Many assume that because evil still exists today, God has not dealt with it. How can atheists assume that God has not already solved the problem of evil in such a way that neither His goodness nor omnipotence is limited? On what grounds do they limit what God can and cannot do to solve the problem? God has already solved the problem of evil. And He did it in a way in which He did not contradict His nature or the nature of man. We assume God will solve the problem of evil in one single act. But why can’t He deal with evil in a progressive way? Can’t He deal with it throughout time as we know it, and then bring it to the climax on the Day of Judgment?

God sent His Son to die on the cross in order to solve the problem of evil. Christ atoned for evil and secured the eventual removal of all evil from the earth. One day evil will be quarantined in one spot called "hell." Then there will be a perfect world devoid of all evil. If God declared that all evil would, at this moment, cease to exist, you and I and all of humanity would go up in a puff of smoke. Divine judgment demands that sin be punished.

listen here, sweetcheeks... God won't do jack for you. You wanna feel good about yourself? Read a book, write a book, climb a mountain; do whatever you have to do to prove that you don't have to prove yourself to anybody, not even God. Sure, God may or may not exist, but either way, there's no reason to blame him for our suffering when it is clearly our own faults. God doesn't want jack from us and won't give jack to us. He's an absentee landlord. Always pointing his finger saying do it an I'll f*cking spank you, but never striking us physically.
You want fulfillment? Go out, get laid, tour Europe, blow coke off an asian hooker's ar$e; whatever you gotta do to make yourself feel comfortable with who you are... just don't turn to God...

It is a choice, and you might need to see a Doctor.
Yes, He loves us, but what are you defining as happiness? The world's?
Real Joy comes from God and it is neither swayed by circumstances nor affected by the world.

Our parents love us so much that they try every way to lead us to the station of intellectuals, but we don't want to learn, will they be blamed for our ignorance?
God wants us to become rational beings with hearts full of purity, kindliness, radiance, but we refuse to read the Holy Books and apply the sacred verses, then will it be correct to blame Him for our failures.
You say that God is omnipotent, he must lead us more effectively than our parents. Yes, you are right, even lions, elephants, sharks...dare not disobey Him. Only man is given free will to make intelligent choice to become stronger than those ferocious beasts, so he chooses to sin and then blames His Creator for this great favor. Perhaps, He will turn us into bees to make perfect honey and we don't have to bear any sense of regret.
