Need more info, do you have any small children, young male neighbors?
Despite the friendship you two have, does she FULLY understand the rules you have for YOUR home?
Make sure you tell her up front about respect and what you expect from her.
Remember you aren't mom, but she still needs to respect you and yours.
Good Luck!

If your relationship is as good as you say, sit her down and talk to her when she arrives. Set ground rules that are appropriate for her age and what ever you do please keep an open mind and listen to her. Adults sometimes forget what it was like to be a teenager. Maybe she'll do better if her feelings are taking into consideration.

Keep an open mind and remember what it was like when you yourself were seventeen. Recall the mood swings and highs and lows that we all experienced. Remember the temptations that are there for kids that age and support rather than chastise her decisions. Good luck and I hope that she is grateful for the kindness that your showing her.

I'm wondering about your Niece and how she feels about you. Fi she smokes, she has probably smoked blunts already and can teach you the ropes of the streets. Beware and keep a pad lock on your purse.
