Don't let anyone else dictate what is 'right' or 'wrong' for you. It is better for your mental health to forgive, although sometimes it is impossible to forget.

It is according to the scriptures. Christ said in Matthew 6:14-15 (Mark 11:25-26) For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. We also find that Christ's story about the debtor and his master in Matthew 18:34-35 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. In Luke 6:36-38 Christ said, "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." In the King James Version of the BIBLE there are 47 different verses in the New Testament alone containing the word forgive or forgivness in it. GOD has forgivness and expects HIS followers to have forgivness. We are expected to forgive anyone and everyone. GOD will sort out the sinners from the saved. We have no right to judge others. Give your self that peaceful feeling with CHRIST and allow GOD to take the Judgment Seat. Have a great week!!

If your having a hard time forgiving, ask the Lord to help you. This might take some time but just keep asking the Lord for help.

Matthew 6:14-15
14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Yes, it is wrong not to forgive someone if they ask for forgiveness.
If someone asks for forgiveness then we should forgive. Otherwise how can we expect God to forgive us?

God forgives us to the same degree that we forgive others who ask us for forgiveness.

However, that doesn't mean that we should make ourselves a doormat. If someone asks for forgiveness for something that puts us or especially children in danger, then we can forgive them but avoid that person at the same time. In this case, forgiving them would mean not holding a grudge against that person in our heart.

The Bible says to forgive 7 times 70 times, meaning always to forgive. Hatred thrives inside us and ruins our own lives. Forgiving someone does not mean that what they did is ok or that they cannot be prosecuted.

to me, thats a difficult question, as sometimes im not sure exactly what forgiveness is,,,,,, though you hear it often,,,, its not acceptance of something that someone has done, you have to accept events in life anyway,,,,, its not dealing with the issue, you must deal with it and move on anyway,,,,,, its not accepting an apology for a wrong,,,,,, as often the person doesnt apologize and see they did wrong,,,,, nor is it accepting that they did the best they could at the time,,,,, as sometimes they purposely do wrong towards you,,,,,,,,so then, to me , you are left with letting it go (which you should do for yourself, it has nothing to do with the other person),,,, and not holding ill feelings towards them,,,,, and no, its not wrong, to not forgive, if that is what forgiving is,,,, you dont want to be overwhelmed by anger towards people, yet at the same time to maintain a righteous anger is fine,, to me,,,,,,

God forgives our sin so we must also forgive those who had hurt us. lt takes time to let go of anger but it is still possible to forgive as time has a way of healing pain.
To forgive is divine.
You don't have to be a God to forgive

It's wrong in the sense that by bearing a grudge you only harm yourself. Anger eats away at you so it's always better to forgive and forget.

Depends what it is you're trying (or not trying) to forgive. I think it's healthy - in fact, necessary - to not always forgive and to hold a grudge or two (not too many, though). It shows that you won't be pushed around.

It actually depends how deep you are wounded. Sometimes it is better to forgive and forget to get on with our lives, and leave them to Karma. It is a heavy heart that carries that load of anger and hate, that is why these terrorists are so ugly and kill themselves and others. They are angry and hateful and there is nothing for them to forgive. So it is not a good thing for your health and future. It is better to love and respect.
Good luck
