it's not what you eat, but how much.
I'm afraid the answer's as simple as that.
there's one more thing though, the hard bit: "will power".
here's the way i do it: when my weight begins to rise i put less on my plate and eat slowly. there are no restrictions to my diet, i enjoy all food, 'cos it's all great! if my weight goes down then an extra portion does the trick.
it's really a question of getting into the right eating habits, and this takes time and patience. persevere and eventually you will begin to enjoy it.
I've been hovering a couple of pounds either side of 12 stone since i was 20. that's over 25 years ago.
so that's my way. hope you get something out if it. good luck and never give up.

Only way to loose weight perminantly and healthly is to increase the amount of exercise you do.
Dieting is not really healthy (unless you are just cutting out junk) as for a healthy body you need ALL the food groups including carbs (sorry Atkins nuts!!)
Dieting also puts the body under strain and causes mental problems and depression
Exercise releases chemicals in the brain that promote happyness and also increases the amount of fat buring mitrichondria in the cells...therefore buring more fat each time you exercise....
Its hard but true...there are no quick fixes!
Good lUck

firstly you should be mentally prepared for it.very important.screw your courage and will power, and willingness to succeed.you succeed only with determination and perseverance, and consistency.start only when you see that you are really prepared for it.
try the slow and steady method.break fast-lunch-dinner.nothing in between.much water before meals,so as not to over eat.eat every thing ,but moderately,so as to be healthy.check your weight after a month,to see results and take corrective measures.go for slow loss of weight.do nothing drastic.if it does not work, try skip one meal, that is go for only one meal per day.an hour of exercise will do you good.in the beginning you may start with 10 or 15 minutes per day.regularity is important.slow and steady.where there is a will, there is a way.you will only succeed if you have the will.take courage and start it.best of luck.remember,Rome was not built in one day.

1. Eat five portions of fruit and veg a day.
2. Eat less at each meal, by putting down your fork and knife between mouthfuls.
3. Exercise daily.
4. Sleep for at least 9 hours a day.
5. Eat your main meal at least 2 hours before you sleep, in order for digestion to be more effective.
