I know that Aids is a sexual disease, but I don't think that this is the reason why many Africans have it.

That's exactly the reason. In many African cultures, it is perfectly acceptable for men to have sex with prostitutes, even if married. There is a LOT of HIV transmission that way. Plus, I read about how prostitutes in Africa (some countries) "dry out" their vaginas with Ajax and other chemicals, increasing the chance of small bleeds during sex. Culturally, many African men believe that a "dry" vagina is better, and lack of lubrication mean increased chance of HIV transmission.

the main problem with africans is ignorance

most are poor and not only can they not afford basic education, they are not even aware of what they are missing

because most are not even literate, it is harder to enlighten them on issues concerning health, especially a concept such as a virus which is so small and causes a disease with no immediate symptoms. thus, u find a lot of people still carrying out high-risk behaviour

also because of ignorance, the effects of stigmatisation on those who are infected is much worse because people are afraid of infection via means that are not transmissible. this leads to people being afraid to test themselves, or admit that they are infected, thereby missing out the necessary treatment and counselling

finally (but not lastly), the poverty causes poorer management of the condition and thus more mortality and morbidity due to the disease

there are many examples but i'm sure u get the drift

Sorry, yet i could advise contacting WHO (international wellbeing corporation) with the U.N. they have a great functionality in African wellbeing care and perform most of the AIDS clinics in Africa!

Lack of education, lack of health care, lack of money.

Their government don't care... nor does the world...

This problem is not going away and will blow in our faces sooner than later.
