I am so sorry for you and your family. If she is at home and on Morphine it sound like she is in Hospice at this time or heading to it. Unfortunately, it does not sound good. If you think that the MD has it wrong then you may want to go to another doctor for a second opinion. Cancer is an awful disease that takes so many good people each year. If it is incurrable and she is at stage 3 then enjoy everyday that you have with her and tell her how much you love her! Start preparing yourself for the end the best you can and try not to get your hopes up. I wish you and your loved ones the best. And I hope that if your grandaughter has to pass that it is easy and painless for her.

I have leukemia. I am now 15, and I was diagnosed at age 5. I have been on "waiting to die" status a few times; I have had even more times when I was in the hospital and almost died. But every time I have come out of it. I am still alive today, and I am grateful for it.
