I have a "one" railway season ticket that covers my overground journey and zones 2-6, alas it's paper and need replacing frequently. Is there anyway to get my zones duplicated onto my Oyster card?

Ask the ticket-tender at the station. I am sure they can issue you another card.

At present, Oyster is only available for journeys wholly within the Travelcard Area I'm afraid, so if you wanted to do such a switch you'd need to buy two seasons: One from your origin to Zone 6 and one for Zones 2 to 5.

The reason for buying them like that is to satisfy the terms of the National Conditions of Carriage, which state that if both tickets are zonal, or if one is a Season Ticket and the other isn't, the train doesn't have to stop where you change from one ticket to the other.

Oyster does not cover rail stations yet. It is hoped that in the next couple of years Ken will sort out having the readers installed at mainline stations. Currently it is like a tax on South Londoners as we have far more rail stations than tube stations. At the moment it's cheaper to buy a paper railcard for all your zones rather than a return rail journey and then use your oyster on the tube. A couple of rail stations are covered like Farringdon (I think) but none that are actually useful.
