You must die to self.
You must believe on the Father in heaven and His Son, Jesus the Christ.
You must be filled with the Spirit of God.

Friend I am a Christian for over 36 yrs, You can keep all the 10 commandments & still go to hell, You must be born again, we all are born sinners, & those in the OT had to have their sins forgiven once a year, But now through Jesus Christ it is done once & for all only one time. & in Romans 10:4 It says That Christ is the END of the LAW, If you are going to ask a question, don't leave yourself open for your critics. The True way to be born again is Repent & be baptized in the name Of The Lord Jesus Christ & we will receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, which is the new Birth.

This is something I discussed at an Alpha meeting, even though I'm an Atheist, I'm interested, as I get Christians say that for some reason they are drawn to me, and that God has plans for me, now whilst I may not believe in God, I respect that they do.
And the question I asked was, (and yes, I've done the things you listed), if I don't believe in Christianity, how can the 10 commandments apply to me.
As for being saved, if there is a God, I will admit that I have wasted 23 years of my life, not appreciating something, but as for being saved, I'm happy the way I am, and after all, God created us in his image, and gave us free-choice, so if someone wants to save me, God can come down here and do it himself if I'm that important to him.
Also, Jesus died on the cross for sin right, therefore, isn't anything bad done instantly nullified?

Why is it that you think anyone needs to be saved? Saved from what? Before you answer, realize that most everyone already knows what you think there is a need to be saved from. But, you need to understand that there are many different ways to believe in God, and to be spiritual. All are equally valid in God's eyes, and the only true path is that which is found by looking within, and communing with ones own soul or higher self. When you assume that your beliefs are the only beliefs that can possibly be right, and everyone else has to be wrong, you are NOT pleasing God.

Both my parent are saved and i have been brought up in christian way but i think being saved is the most difficult thing you can ever deal with. People say they are saved but at the end of the day you act the same do the same things and in some cases they are worse than you who is not saved
God bless us all

We are all liars, thieves and sinners. Church is like a spiritual hospital, where the evil in us can be controlled to some extent. We keep trying. The commandments were summed up by Jesus; Love God above all and your neighbor as yourself. We still sin, but by accepting Him as Lord and Savior, we are quickly forgiven, because He knows we keep trying, and the Spirit helps us in this.

Actually, the Old Law was nailed to the CRoss (at Calvary). The New Law does NOT contain the Ten Commandments. GOD sent HIS SON so that all would have an opportunity to be among the SAVED in Heaven. Christ is at the RIGHT HAND of GOD awaiting the Judgment. There is actually more than "believing in HIM" that is required for becoming a CHILD of GOD.
To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.
