this happend to me as well after i stood too close to the speaker at a rock concert.... not a good idea....
mine went away after 3 or 4 days. tho i will say, it sounds silly but if u concentrate on the ringing or think about it a lot, itll be harder to notice when it goes away. if that makes sense. so get distracted, think/do/listen to something else and then ask yourself if you noticed the ringing then.
but obviously, if it goes on for much longer and ur worried, head to the doctors.

I've been stuck with the ringing in the ears for a little over a year now! It's called tinnitus. You should see your ear, nose, throat specialist. I had some wax stuck on my eardrum and liquid behind that. I had it removed and now the ringing is very low! I was going crazy when it was loud. I hope for you that it goes away because it's no fun. Definitely see an ENT, maybe it will solve your problem. Good luck!! Also, don't stay where there is no noise because it is worse! Try sleeping with the noise of a fan and during the day listen to the radio or something!!

...it must have been a good party then...
"Because tinnitus and hearing loss can be permanent conditions, precautionary measures are advisable. If a ringing in the ears is audible after exposure to a loud environment, such as a rock concert or work place, it means that damage is being done. Prolonged exposure to noise levels as low as 70 dB can result in damage to hearing. If it is not possible to limit exposure, earplugs or ear defenders should be worn. For musicians and DJs, special musicians' earplugs can lower the volume of the music without distorting the sound and can prevent tinnitus from developing in later years"

For some reason, we like our music loud. When you start hearing a ringing in your ears, it may last a day or two at first, but I can tell you that one day you will wake up and the ringing will not go away. Then you have to learn to live with it until someone comes up with a cure. It is a permanent damage to the follicles within the ear canal. As much fun as it is to have the music up loud, be very careful and understand that for right now it is a non reversible injury.

Listening to music over 85dB for any length of time is doing permanent damage to your hearing. Music in most night clubs is well over this limit. The ringing in your ears is your body letting you know that your ears are being damaged. However, the ringing should eventually cease.

My husband dealt with the same problem a few years ago, constant ringing in one of his ears after loud noise. He is now deaf in that ear. Be careful! Once the damage is done, it is irreversible!

you have probably damaged your hearing due to the loud music,
if it hasn't gone in a few days, consult your gp other than that
prepare yourself for the worst and learn to live with it

Sounds like Tinnitus. sorry, but it's a life-long complaint. There are other things it could be, like a build up of wax...which doesn't mean to say you don't clean your ears ! Best to get a doctor to look and maybe refer you to an audiologist
