I am prone to ear infections myself, mostly because I dig around in there too often with cotton buds. I used to have anti-biotics all the time, until I was told about this:
Go to the supermarket and buy yourself a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Put several drops in the affected ear. It'll pop and fizz and bubble and tickle - that's how you know it's working. Do that a couple of times a day, and you'll quickly notice that it fizzes less and less each time as it kills off the bug that caused the infection.
Also, the ear canal is normally lined with a coating of Zinc, which repels bacteria. If the coating is compromised (like it is with me, by digging around with cotton buds), that allows infection to settle in. So, a good Zinc supplement wouldn't hurt. Throw in some Kyolic Garlic and Vit C for good measure.
But really, the peroxide is all I need, and I have some doozies.
Rest assured, the peroxide is very safe.

If it is a middle ear infection the only answer may be to see a doctor. Make sure the doctor is aware of how long the infection has been going on. If it is a persistent infection, a second or third course of medication may be called for.
