I have had a scalp problem for a while now. various tests show nothing. I've been given several possible names and treatment, the latest being adult cradle cap. I didn't think adults got it. Anyway, treatment seems to have worked and cleared it - finally! But my hair came out with it and I have large bald patches. I've also noticed my pillow with loads of hair on each morning. Don't want to go bald! Has anyone else had this condition and if so how long did it last?

Yes I've had adult cradle cap. I've heard various things as to the cause but for me it's always a vitamin deficiency. When the cradle cap comes back I go to the health food store (or look in Prescription of nutritional healing, I have an old version) to see what I can do. I've tried the treatments, and like you had bald patches, some regrow, some don't (sorry). You have to look for the source of yours (but start with the local health food store). They can help.

I went through something similar. I didn't go to the doctor.
I am an herbalist/naturalist. I realized my body was clogged/
toxified. This happens in this world of pollunants. You should have and should now cleanse your body. You can do this by abstaining from heavy foods and drink lots of low/no sugar drinks. I find if I let all meat go and stick to "alive" food(vege's)
fresh or frozen then drink gatoraide, herbal teas and lots of water, it takes about 4-7 days . Just liquids-including sugar juices
(no soda) v-8's and such takes 3-5 days. The medicine was a toxin itself. Medical doctors don't know how to treat the whole body at one time. They treat symtoms. Good luck

Could be seborrheic dermatitis. Try Nizoral shampoo, active ingredient is ketoconazole.

If it is psoriasis, then the cause may be candida albicans fungus. Check out www.hufa.org - the yeast link - for info on this condition.
