This site has a lot of info i think you might like. It just takes time, i have a very active shepard and she eats 2 times a day and after 30 mins to 1 hour i take the bowl away, she has learned to eat in that time period. Just be patient and dont give in.

First make sure your dog is ok/healthy. I used to leave the bowl down for my dog also to "graze" all day. Then I stopped. I put the bowl down at a certain time in the am and pm. If he did not eat it within 10 minutes, the bowl went up on the counter, or some place where he could not get it. Then it would go back down in the afternoon for the pm feeding, same rule. Eventually, they will understand and they will eat. If he/she does not however, within 2 days, you may want to go ahead and go to the vet, or change the food.

It's hard to get a puppy this young to eat on schedule. He is still used to nursing from his mother whenever he pleases. If you really want to here's what you do: If he doesn't eat the food, take it away. It sounds mean but it works. Next time you put the food down at the next feeding, he knows you mean business and he better eat his food before he loses it!

feed your puppy 3-4 times per day,but small amounts(3-4) oz.per time.Puppies ,like babies, need to be fed more often, with less volume. As they get bigger, feed less often but increase the volume until the dog reaches maturity(12 months). After dog is a year old. he only has to eat once per day. Have water down all the time.free choice. He will not starve to death,if he is hungry, he will eat.

Why do you want to make him eat on schedule?
My dog has his food since he was a puppy, all day long and he eats whenever he wants. He has a regular weight and the best thing is that when he is not hungry he doesn't eat because he knows that he can eat anytime.
Not to mention that i give him his food and i can be out of home.
I don't see why he has to have a schedule.
Let your dog be more free...!!!

Hand feed him for the first bit, and let him eat the rest. You're going to need to take some time to be there watching him eat. Dogs respond to eating quicker when there is another being in the room with them.

Dogs will EAT on schedule by being FED on a shedule!
TWICE is enough-morning & night. Give it *15* MINUTES to finish.
You CAN'T train any animal ANYTHING by WIMPING out!
&...it's NOT "underweight"!

Why put your discipline, on a free animal. Let it enjoy its life. Only, we have to adhere to Social norms.

You only feed them at that time, unless you are giving them treats.
