So I heard that there's this conspiracy, that the Smithsonian Institute is purposefully covering up the existence of the fossil remains of a giant race of pre-humans that were spoken of in the Bible as the Nephilim or something like that.
I've looked it up on Google and several encyclopaedia sites but I can't find anything credable that relates to it.
Can someone provide links or some sort of information regarding this? I'd be interested to have a read.

For those who don't know, the Nephilim were the offspring of angels and human females. They were the giants mentioned in the Old Testiment such as Goliath.
According to some people, there was fossil evidence found but covered up because it "discounts the theory of evolution".

churches everywhere ARE trying to cover up fossil finds...hold on let me find the link...
http://www.turkishdailynews.com.tr/article.php?enewsid=53247
Here you go, this link is an article about this museum in Kenya that is trying to show an exhibit on the evolution of mankind using actual fossils. Churches everywhere are trying to get the museum to take down the exhibit and the museum has even received bomb threats from a few creationists.
I have never heard about the "Nephilim" though.

I haven't heard about this, but from reading the bible and knowing that it is often a reliable historical account supported by archeology, I'm open to the suggestion that human beings have changed over time, perhaps not necessarily by the principles of "evolution", but the possibility of genetic mutation isn't necessarily contradictory to the bible. I'm skeptical of any claims of bone findings. Last week they claimed to have found the bones of Jesus, while even the Jews who would like to believe this are saying that it is an unfounded claim, as there were many people of that time with those names found in the tombs. Don't believe everything you hear. Be an honest skeptic, seeking the truth.

The fact that you are not finding credible links could be one clue. If you understood how hard the anthropologists, acheaologists and paleontologists work to find the few bones and how excited they get over every find you would be wondering how anybody could make the claim of deliberately hiding finds. What does sometimes happen isd that the researchers will horde their finds, trying to hold onto them while they study and often long after. I think they are afraid that if the finds are out of their sight they will disappear on them. Like loaning stuff anywhere else.
If the bones of giants were found it would be revolutionary. There would be no wat to hide it. Conspiracy theorists thrive on hidden evidence.
Edit to above Dr. Dino (Kent Hovind) was found guilty and is to be sentenced on the 9th of January, 2007. I expect him to get his 288 years just like the jury found him guilty of, but you never know.

You've answered your own question here;

And you probably don't even realize it do you Sparky?
The fact is, the Smithsonian only deals with REAL fossils, not made up crap. You do understand that they wouldn't display a fossil or skeleton of Tinkerbell or a Leprechaun either right?

You would of course need some seriously watertight evidence to support such an accusation against a well respected institution but just the merest hint should be good enough for the creationists to scream atheist conspiracy. They take intellectual dishonesty to a whole new level.

I haven't heard about this conspiracy, but I do know about what you ask - the word is "nephilim", and translated means "giants".
You will find them recorded in the Book of Genesis, and who they are will probably shock you, because although it is pure Bible, you will not normally hear it taught in the churches. So here goes:
Ever wonder why Noahs flood REALLY happened? Well, Noah was a preacher, and at that time, was preaching against these nephilim. In short, the Bible describes them as a race of people, half angelic / half human. When God destroyed the earth age that was, and brought in this age, thats where you find Adam and Eve being formed in the garden of Eden. That was NOT the first creation of this earth; the Bible declares this earth to be billions upon billions of years old. When God brought in this earth age, it was decreed that each soul be born one time in the flesh, born of woman- but, there were angels who left their habitation, and came to earth in supernatural form, to seduce and take flesh woman for mates. They did it, and they had children, called nephilim; another word used for them in Scripture is "geba".
That is why God brought the flood of Noah - to destroy the influx of these hybrids who were attempting to take Noahs offspring to marry also - and remember - Noahs lineage had to be kept pure, so that eventually the Christ Child would come of it, womb-to-womb, all the way down to the House of David, and Mary herself.
Satan was trying to mess with that from the beginning - thats why he showed up in the Garden of Eden and seduced Eve.
Did you know that the Bible states that Cain was satans child?
Yep - God multiplied Eves conceptions, allright - she had twins of separate pregnancies - Able was Adams Son, Cain was satan's son. These facts are not only written in the Bible, they are all but cemented in fact in the original manuscripts. Anyway, back to Noah: These hybrids you can read of in the Book of Jude - the only chapter. Noah preached against them because he knew what they were. Some people think that God was just being unfair picking some people to live and the rest to die, but God was not being unfair - he was protecting the lineage, and getting rid of these nephilim. I personally don't believe that the flood was worldwide, but just in the area where the nephilim were, but thats just my opinion, not able to document that. You will read in Genesis that they were giving and taking in marriage right up until Noah went into the Ark. Thats who they were giving and taking in marriage to - these nephilim. The only other thing i know of them is that the angels that left thier habitations will be destroyed when Christs feet touch the Mount of Olives, upon his return.

No worries, mate! If not being able to find the evidence were a problem for Creationists, they would have shriveled up a long time ago.
To the person above who mentioned Dr. Dino (Kent Hovind):
please know the man has lied about his Phd. credentials and is currently awaiting sentencing on 58 counts of tax evasion.
