For the past 3 nights after I put my dog to sleep in her crate she breaks out in the middle of the night. She has never done this before and it worries me. Is she trying to tell me something or is this normal and I should just get a new crate?

I dont think she is trying to tell you anything but her crate is broke lol. I have 3 large breeds and even though they are crate trained they would like to get out in the night just to look around. One of my crates was a little loose and my Pit could get out on his own. I replaced the crate and every one is happy and safe. Good luck with your pup, i wish you the best!

I agree with Ducky, good advice, check this site out it might help.

You dont need a new crate, turn the cage to where the door faces the wall and push it up against the wall. This should keep her in the crate untill morning!

is she crated near your room? if not she probably stresses that you are leaving her. find out where she's getting out and block it and turn her crate into a fun place, somewhere she wants to be, give her time outs with rawhide treats during the day when you're there. otherwise run a search and find training sites that can help.

Yes she is trying to tell you something.
Dogs don't belong in crates.
Don't use a crate unless you're travelling.
