Medical marijuana - what is your opinion?

I think it should be medically legal everywhere. Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island are the only New England states that allow MM to chronic pain sufferers. (I am in MA and have severe chronic pain. Meds don't help.) Would you move a minimum of 75 miles to go to the state with medical marijuana if you needed it? I am thinking of moving to Maine from Massachusetts.

that would probably be a good move. Those hardcore pain killers can really take away from your life. your health should always be your #1 priority. if you dont want to move, you could always petition to legalize it in your state.

For certain ailments ..yes....it has proven effective in relieving pain in aids patients and help those with eating disorders.
I believe the drug companies are reluctant to agree with some of the findings because it can be cultivated by anyone and exclusivity of a patent would cut into their profits.
Even though states have had tremendous passage of the medical side of marijuana...the feds still are enforcing the laws....of course the local law enforcement are obliged to help...but with any drug...legal or not there are those that exploit it and make the rest suffer with restrictions...ie...simple cold medicines with ephedrine and the like ingredients.

I completely agree with it if nothing else works. Montel Williams (the talk show host) has some wonderful info on this. I would think of moving if I really needed it.

Oh and yes there is medical proof that it does help (This is for those non believers). Do the research yourself before you throw out half as*ed answers. There are also licensed growers who grow it 100% pure without the "bad" stuff in it.

Fine. But you'd better surrender your driving license, because you have no business driving while stoned.

I believe that there are often things that could help chronic pain sufferers (such as nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, etc.) but they are not tried.

Have fun in Maine. I'd need to be stoned too if I had to survivie a winter there.

This is a hotly contested topic. There is no evidence that MM helps anyone with pain and nausea or anything else. It should not be made legal anywhere because of this.

unfortunately MM will probably never be legal, there are too many people that haven't done the research on it that make the decisions regarding legalizing it or not.
