Good question!!!
I am a believer, so you don't have to convince me. But I just wanted to let you know how much I like this question!
Of course, it is gravity that holds us here and the moon out there, but it is still a great point!

Magnetic fields have nothing to do with it. It is the force of gravity that holds us on this planet and holds the moon in orbit (btw.. it is a common scientific theory that the moon is slowly slipping away from the Earth).
The force of gravity is dependent upon the mass of the objects. Your mass is considerably less than that of the moon which is why you are not pulled as hard as the moon is by the Earth.
Perhaps you would do well to go back and read some school books.

As it was mentioned in previous answers it is not magnetism but gravity that you are speaking about. I don't know why there were thumbs down for these answers.
Gravity is a force between two objects with mass. The strentgh of gravity depends on the masses of both objects. So an object with as little mass as a human body could not be kept in orbit but an object with much more mass like the moon can. The moon is kept in orbit by the gravity that pulls it to the earth and works as centripetal force and the centrifugal force that pushes it away from it. Both forces are equal in strength so it remains in orbit and doesn't fall on the earth. Our bodies are adapted to the gravity on the earth's surface.
And you should have asked this in the science section, it has absolutely nothing to do with religion.

Magnetic fields have zip to do with the moon, gravity keeps the moon in orbit along with thousands of man made and non made made satellites.
Gravity is a constant force towards the earth, but any force can be counteracted by a greater than equal force in the opposing direction. Hence jumping lets you defy gravity, as does climbing a ladder. The problem is it must be constantly exertyed until you clear the sphere of influence. for that you need to be in space. Rockets allow it by providing a constant force until it has cleared the sphere of influence. Gravity still exists close to the earth but much weaker upon small objects, and things appear to be in free motion because small forces can equal it.

Gravity and centrifugal force keep the moon in orbit, not the magnetic field. You need to read books from the real world.

It's not the magnetic field, it's the Earth's gravity.
What does this have to do with belief?
If you're suggesting that the Earth was set up in such a way that it could keep the Moon in check while not effecting it's own inhabitants, you're using a flawed argument. We ARE effected by gravity, we have weight.

Gravity is a force separate from magnetism. The Moons inertia which keeps it moving, is fighting with the Earths gravity, which would pull it down, to keep it in orbit.
By the Way, the Moons orbit is not perfect. It's slowly moving outward at a rate of a few inches a year.

The magnetar SGR 1806-20 has the strongest known magnetic pull. A magnetar is a neutron star that spins like crazy and has a very strong magnetic field.

You're mistaken.
It is gravity not magnetism that keeps the moon in orbit.

A very good question. And how can you explain you need a bunch of very intelligent scientists with sophisticated hi tech instruments and equipments to send a tiny satelite and space craft into orbit only the size of a semi trailer, but no designer or maker to send "a much bigger spacecraft" complete with unlimited supply of oxygen, water, food, and everything needed by its 6 billion crew and passengers for thousands of years in its orbit around the sun at the staggering speed of 39,000 miles an hour without slacking, slowing down or falling?
Do you want to know why? Please answer the question of its
Designer and Maker: in Isaiah 40:26:
Lift up your eyes on high,
And see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host (meaning stars) by number;
He calls them all by name,
By the greatness of His might
And the strength of His power;
Not one is missing.
And who taught the writer of the book of Job who said in Job 26:7
"7 He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.," when all the scientists of those days, prior to the invention of telescopes, all without exception said that the earth was carried by Hercules or Atlas or a giant turtle and other nonsense?

For someone who probably never studied the properties of minerals, coagulates, energies, etc. due to a adversity to learning something about the universe we've been graciously given to discover... I'd say your logic is fairly pisspoor. Just my advice, but maybe the subject matters in the book you're reading just aren't broad enough to satisfy your curiousity. We live on a huge friggin' rock that was covered in a huge assortment of minerals. These minerals (keyword) collaberated together with the properties given by the sun to create organisms. These organisms later (keyword) developed with the tools their environment gave them and became self-aware. With this self-awareness they began to question the universe. They picked up a stone and threw it on the flower of fire and found that a shiney liquid came out. They took that and made spears and knives, making hunting animals easier. Later, they were killing eachother because the other had more of what they wanted, et al. More thinking occured. hint hint
