Different countries would have different departments/sections in their embassies overseas. It all depends on the type of activities the sending country is involved in the host country. However, almost all embassies would have the following sections. Trade; Commerce; Cultural; Immigration/Visa/Consulate; Administration; Press; Diplomacy; Education; Military etc., etc.

Supper/Big Powers would have more sections including those involved in what is called Security and Spying matters.

Depends on the country. Most have at very least a Consular Department dealing with issuing visas, leagalizing documents, and providing support to their citizens in the foreign country.

Other departments can include Trade & Commerce, Tourism, Diplomacy, Public Relations, Culture, Environment, Human Rights, Science & Technology, just about anything really...

You can always check the country's embassy webpage for more info on the particular departments specific to that country.
