Many come under the sways of the one world religion push and say all religions are the same, are talking about the same "god" and all their teachers were just different prophets for the same universal truth? Is that so or are the words of the prior atheist, eventual Christan and accomplished author more on the mark?

In his famous book Mere Christianity, Lewis makes this statement, "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

Please put aside your own pre judgements and actually answer the question, the relative to the context -- any other prophets allowed AFTER him to Alter his testimony. Jesus Christ claimed to be the end and fulfillment of all other words of the prophets and that many would come after him trying to alter the kingdom of GOd he had expounded but he said they would be false prophets.

You are correct. Thanks for sharing that. Yes, actually, if one believes in Christ, either they take Him at His word and believe in Him as the one true God, or they totally disgard Him as a lunatic.

I for one believe in Him and one cannot take Christ onboard and decide to bring along a few others as well. He said "Either you are for me, or against me". "I am the way, the truth, and the life". He did not say "I am a way, a truth and a life".

So certainly Christ makes it clear that you make your choice for or against. And I like that, because He is stating who He is and if you really believe, how could you even wish to water it down and pick and choose others on top of it.

The bible makes it clear there is no middle ground and those who want to play games, or have a marshmellow religion with bits of this and bits of that and what they prefer, probably should go elsewhere. It's not a smorgus board.

And this is the problem, many think they can take what they want out of the bible, and leave what doesnt' suit them. And that is really not true faith, it is simply a person wishing to use it for a lifestyle only on the points that suit.

So for me? I believe the entire bible, from front to back. I believe it is literal and the stories contained, when they are fables, are clearly stated as such. The rest I believe are actual historical accounts.

Hi Position. When God was finished writing the New Testament He was through sending Divine Revelation. Although we can prophesy by declaring the Word of God, There are to be no more prophets who bring prophecy in addition to what is already in the Bible. No speaking in tongues, no messages through visions or dreams. God tells us this very clearly in Revelation 22:18:

"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;"

God tells us in the Bible that Jesus was a teacher (Matthew 23:10), but I agree, He was not just a great human teacher. He was God Almighty Himself.

The Ten Commandments only point out the sins of mankind and are intended to keep sinful mankind in check. They do not bring Salvation.

Salvation can only come through the Grace of Jesus Christ who was the Sacrificial Lamb. God tells us in John 1:29:

"The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"

The Word says God blinds people to understanding.
Jesus told the Disciples people were not allowed to know
what they knew. WHY?
Because spiritual knowledge can be abused.
But we are getting ready to go through some serious stuff. And Christ said there is nothing we will not find out about before He returns. We will be without excuse. Noone will be able to say he or she didn't know any better!

Here is something that Jesus said according to John - Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

And then according to Mark - Mr 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

If we hear His voice and believe what He says and if we deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Him, can there be room for any other to follow or any other who can alter what He has said? Or is there any other who we can put our faith in?

DO NOT take the words of a man. CHRIST SAID whenever He was questioned, "have you not read" or "it is written" WE have the prophets who have gave us everything we need to know IF you believe in the Word of God. All one has to do is READ them, (the words, the Bible) and everything is there that anyone needs. Christ Himself quoted the prophets many many times. Have you not read it?

<> Just because something it legal doesn't mean it's right. <> There's a reason you can't spell 'assume' without '***'. People who assume too much end up making asses of themselves. < murder, how come?>> Doesn't make sense, does it - and yet, there you are advocating people merely ASSUME the government is right! <> WRONG! <> Ad hominem attacks hurt your credibility. Perhaps Marc, like me, doesn't see too much in the way of credibility when reading your question. < is NOT murder.>> The term "fetus" literally means "the young in the womb". The fetus IS a living human being. Life begins at conception, not birth nor some arbitrary point in between. Therefore, every abortion constitutes the murder of an unborn human being. <> But the fetus IS human. Therefore, abortion IS murder. < and stupid imagination.>> What's so narrow minded about acknowledging the unborn for the living human beings they are? Since you're unable to do that, wouldn't that suggest your mind is in fact more narrow than mine? < person NOT two.>> That just goes to show how schizophrenic human institutions can be - and you want to ASSUME such an institution (the government) is right.

He became a christian so his words have no credibility. He wrote interesting works of fiction but in the end he was unable to disdern the difference between it and fact.
