Short Answer: NO!

Long answer: The long-term health impacts of repeatedly inhaling cooking gas (either Natural Gas or Liquefied Petroleum Gas) are unknown however the potential short term possibilities include, asphyxiation due to oxygen displacement (a non-life sustaining atmosphere), irritation of mucus membranes and eyes from the irritant added by manufacturers, and cryogenic tissue damage (cold burns) although the last is dependent upon the relative pressures involved. The short term asphyxiation causes the light headedness and the altered states of consciousness.

Studies have shown that repeated bouts of hypoxia, a lack of oxygen to the brain, can cause developmental difficulty's with children and that Adults that have frequent bouts of hypoxia, caused by sleep apnea but the parallels are there, develop brain injury's from it.

Well, let's see here:

Step 1: sniff gas.

Step 2: pass out.

Step 3: be unconscious, while gas is filling up your house.

Bad move. And that's just assuming that the gas itself doesn't have any long-term damaging effect. This is best-case scenario right here.

sniff+gas+cooker=death
if you felt your brain getting tight dude, you've done some kind of damage already. i've personally known kids who've died the first time they sniffed/huffed fuel. if it was safe, it would be packaged and sold for human usage, right?

It's really NOT safe. What if you pass out? You won't even wake up. Sheesh, find other favorite smell, less dangerous...
