Any self analysis of a condition of the body could prove detrimental to the sufferer. Its not right to take opinions of friends.
Consult a physician and go for a Biopsy which determines the severity of the condition, followed by the medication advocated by the Doctor concerned , he/she would refer you to the specialists as the case may be.

I had a swollen gland beneath my jaw and it turned out that I had a thyroid condition. You should get it checked out.

it might be a swollen lymph node. (its a system in your body that Helps fight off infection)

nodes can swell when you sick(or getting sick) or if you're touching a lot. IF it hurts too that defiantly Could be it.

However if its been going on for a little while, double check with your physician. better to be safe than sorry.
