This site might be useful for you before you start a detox diet.
But I would check with your doctor first.

The night before you start weigh and measure yourself

When you get up have a cup of water that has been boiled.
Eat Breakfast.
Midday a small light meal
3ish 2 biscuits a glass of water.
Dinner.
Before bed again a cup of water that has been boiled.

Do not eat anything between meals.
If you drink alcohol you MUST miss a meal but NOT breakfast.
Do NOT eat tinned veg.
Drink only One Cal juice.
Do NOT eat crisps or nuts.
This diet is not calorie controlled and is a simple weight loss diet

Hope this helps, I have been selling diets for over 20 years and this is the most popular for gentle weight loss, I normally make up this diet sheet with selected meals but obviously can't do it for you as I don't know how much you want to lose, or what weight you are at the moment.
Good Luck.

Drink 10 glasses of good water a day, herb tea, juices etc.
Spend the first day eating only fruit, raw vegetables (carrots, cabbage, cucumber etc, and good yoghurt. Rest that day and don't worry if you get a headache, it'll go next day.
Spend the next few days on a vegan diet (no animal products at all). I've done it , it's safe and effective. Go walking 30 minutes, twice a day if possible) De-tox your mind at the same time by avoiding tv and loud music etc., choose a good book, good music instead. See only your most trusty friends. If you believe, take some time to pray. Use natural bathroom products too - this way you;'ll have a new de-toxed you from top to toe, inside and out within ten days. You'll feel great! P.S. A coffee now and then won't hurt!

You could seek advice from you GP.

You can always try a weekend detox: Water/Fruit Juice and water based vegetable. Include Ginger/Lemon Juice for a liver detox.

If you like and can cope with a weekend detox. Just include more water/fruit juices and as you come to the end of your detox: Introduce water based veg and solid food.

Hope this Helps

Martyn

If you read any detox products and it sounds too good to be true. It probably is. The only pounds you will lose with be from your purse.

Good Luck

If i feel like i have gone over bored i always try and drink as much water during the day as possible..this is hard to do while at college so i carry a liter bottle with me everywhere i go!
water flushes all the bad crap out of the body and actually makes you loose weight after a while... its also good because it doesnt make you feel as hungry which will help you not to tuck into all the bad fast food that you'll probably be wanting to aviod! lol.

Hope this simple trick helps. good luck x x

The simplest and most effective detox diet is the lemon detox diet.

Do it in 5 - 7 days and loose about 5-7 kg.
You should read up on it. It really works.

The two best sites I found are www.lemondetox.com and www.lemondetoxdiet.com.au

My mum swears by the grape or apple detox. Just eat either for 24 hours and just drink water. I would suggest either weight watchers or slimming world though. Look up 'master cleanse' on google for the mother of all detoxes though!!!!!

my advice is not to buy anything (except a juicer if you dont already have one), dont waste your money on any of the detox crap thats in the chemists at the moment. you dont need supplements. instead:

- first, you need to fast for 1 day (only drinking water, no food whatsoever - and no cigarettes if you smoke.) by the end of the day you'll feel very energetic, it'll surprise you!

- next day you need to get drinking fresh fruit juice. ideally you need a juicer, and your diet should be made of vegetable and fruit juices for 3-5 days. try carrots, apples, ginger, beetroot, spinach, orange, banana, celery, avocado... theres no limit to the combinations, but only fresh fruit and veg.

- after this second period you can have some solid food, pulses and rice, but keep the toxins out (no added sugar, salt, alcohol or caffeine.) keep it healthy - soups, salads etc. the majority of your food should still be vegetables. dont eat meat, fish, eggs or any dairy products at this stage because they are harder to digest.

- after this you have to try and phase the new habits into your normal diet to see any lasting weight loss and change of health. it makes you feel bloody brilliant, it's well worth doing. i did it a couple of years ago and felt great for months. one thing you may notice is a couple of days in feeling sick and lethargic. this is only the toxins leaving your body. to speed up this process try to be as active as possible, take gentle exercise and keep your mind active. dont do anything strenuous. try not to watch too much tv. read books instead. healthy body, healthy mind!
good luck

Drink plenty of water (2 litres per day).

Cut out sugar, refined carbohydrates, dairy, processed foods, alcohol, sugar.

Eat stacks of vegetables, fruit, small amount of nuts and seeds, two palm sized portions of good quality protein per day, brown rice, lentils and whoe grains. If weight loss is your aim then limit the amount of carbohydrate (including that from starchy vegetables).

Exercise every day.

Dry skin brush every morning before your shower - helps to stimulate the lymph system and aids detox.

Supplement with psyllium husk (My preference is Lepicol as it also has pre and probiotics. Add in Essential Fatty Acids if your diet is low in them. You might also want to add a superfood such as Aloe Vera, Spirulina or Chlorella.

Book yourself a short course of colonics.

Make sure you get enough sleep and book yourself some treats such as a massage.

Scientists have discovered that detoxing may be a pointless exercise, because human organs are specifically designed to filter out toxins themselves.
Detoxing to counteract overindulgence over the holiday period has become popular in recent years, leading to many celebrities, such as Carol Vorderman, producing their own detox guides.
The principle behind the technique is that a diet of fatty foods and alcohol wears down the body's filtration systems, leading to a build-up of toxins, preventing the body from working at its full capacity.
Through cutting out harmful foods and absorbing nutrients to boost the kidney and liver, detoxing is intended to reverse this process.
But scientists have argued the concept is useless, as our organs are naturally capable of getting rid of the toxins by themselves.
Researchers for a BBC series took 10 women aged between 19 and 33, who had recently returned from hard-living at a music festival, and put five on a detox diet with no caffeine, dairy products, red meat, alcohol, fizzy drinks, salt and sugar.
The others followed a normal diet.
After seven days, test on the liver and kidney functions of the two groups revealed no significant differences, with the same going for levels of key antioxidants such as vitamins C and E.
Jill Fullerton-Smith, the BBC's director of scientific programmes, said the evidence on detoxing was conclusive.
"Our researchers found no evidence of detox working," she said.
"It's a complete waste of time and money."
Nonetheless the diet and detox market is worth more and more every year - book industry insiders are confident that new figures for 2006 will smash the £19.8m worth of books sold in 2005. Just five years ago the industry was worth only £7.9m.
Rhyl-born Carol Vorderman has led the charge and produced a series of books and DVDs on detoxing in the past few years, with the latest, Carol Vorderman's Detox for Life, looking likely to shoot up the bestsellers' list in the New Year.
She will face competition from TV dietician Gillian McKeith's 24 Hours Detox Kit, which includes instructions on following the diet along with recommended foods such as seeds and minerals.
But the biggest sellers this year look likely to be diet plans.
One currently creating a stir is The Wine Diet by Roger Corder, which takes its inspiration from the long life expectancy of people in Mediterranean areas, alongside perennial tales of the health benefits of red wine in moderation.
The book promotes a healthy lifestyle above weight loss, although its author claims that despite the diet's acceptance of chocolate and hearty meals, participants should expect a slow but steady reduction in weight.
Also taking its inspiration from eating habits in another part of the world is The Japan Diet by Naomi Moriyama and William Doyle, which advocates a high intake of vegetables and fish, eating little and often and savouring food slowly to reduce hunger.
Dr Susan Jebb, head of nutrition and medical research at the Medical Research Council, said the demand for self-help diet books was a good thing to an extent.
"It is positive that so many people want to help themselves to lose weight, and at least realise that they need to do something about it," she said.
"But we know that the only real diets are the ones that can be sustained over a long period.
"The problem with a book is that once you've read it, you're on your own."

All diets are BS. Exercise is the best way to lose weight long term. And forget gyms - expensive rip-off merchants.

Simply walk everywhere. Walk to work. Walk home. Walk to the shops. Always take the stairs. And walk fast.
