Make a menu plan.
Make a grocery list & stick to it.
Buy fresh - junk & pre-prepared foods are more expensive.
Don't use your debit or atm card - bring only the amount you think you'll need and bring it in cash.
When you are ready to check out go thru your cart one last time and put any impulse items back on the shelf.
Buy generic.
Take a good look at your house cleaning products. Do you really need 10 different kinds or can you manage with 1 or 2?
Don't buy food in bulk - chances are it will just go to waste.

try doing your groceries on a weekly basis. bring along with you a list of all the stuff that you need..and STICK.TO.THE LIST!

~on doing your list, plan your meals for the week ahead. buy the ingredients that you're sure you're gonna use so things don't rot in your fridge, thus nothing goes to waste (hope you're a good cook though)..

~for toiletries, detergents, and things like that.. buy 'em in bulk or economy size. ofcourse, these would last you for way more than a week and they're much cheaper..

~the same goes for the most basic things like salt, vinegar, baking soda, etc. remember that these things do not only help you with your cooking but also, they double as cleaning agents in your kitchen/bathroom (on this, see source/s below)

~know where it's cheapest to do your grocery.. but also, mind how much you're spending on gas..

~bring a calculator with you so you could check if your purchcases are still under your budget

oh. and grab a bite right before doing you're grocery so you don't mindlessly put every snack in your cart.

ok. i'm blanking out on this already..gLuck, btw.

You could try purchasing things in bulk (which is usually cheaper, and you can buy just what you need), gathering coupons (there are websites where you can print coupons) and also buying store brands. Below, you will find a link for a coupon website. Another thing you could try and do is to do a search on the internet for "free samples," which does help sometimes. There are tons of websites out there just for free samples. The trick is actually looking into them and finding out which offers are actually free. StartSampling is a website I personally like to use because they don't charge you anything. There are others I've been to, but that is the one I use most often. Hope this helps.

Making a Menu for the time you are shopping for( week. 2 weeks etc.)Looking at sale ads to work on best buys for that week. Using seasonal foods in diet, they are usual the ones at the best prices plus freshest. Coupons for items you usually use(cleaning items etc.)
I use a Warehouse store(Costco ,Sams, etc.) for most of my basics, but this requires both storage & the cost of joining.
BIGGIE do not go to the store all the time. It has been proven that doing so increases spending.

look for items on sale, bargain hunt, use coupons, try the non-name brand items, majority of the time all you are purchasing is the label on all that brand name stuff-usually it's the same stuff just a prettier label

Go through and delete things that are luxury, and not necessary. Fix smaller portions of substantial nutrients.
