learn to get in close and fight ,tall people have a hard time fighting up close .i`m 6`3" and i know to keep shorter people away because up close i have no striking power.if i can strike you from a distance i will destroy you.your power is in short punches ,get in close and work on the body.keep them so close that all you have to do is bend your legs a little and pull them over.when you get them down move in circles to confuse and keep them face down.if they try to get up snatch there arms out so they stay down.keep them off balance at all times.pound away dude.if they can`t get up there butt belongs to you.tko

Very easily, Kveldorgonlier made an excellent breakdown of the size differential, the knees are always a good weakpoint on anyone, but people who are shorter have a more even base and take a little more to get taken off balance, while people who're taller have a little more difficulty maintaining their balance this way.
We have a guy in my class who is about the same height and weight, and it's not that difficult to bring him down with the right use of footwork & leverage.
If you know what to do and how to do it, there's many ways to go about defending yourself against a bigger and heavier opponent.
I've often been up againt taller or heavier opponents, and never had much of a problem.

As was said above, first make him your friend. Don't tick him off. If he does try to whoop you run away first. If you absolutely MUST fight for some reason, you are in serious trouble if you don't have years of training and/or experience. Large guys have weak spots just like small guys. What's more, these weak spots are larger because their bodies are larger. Again, get away if you can, but if a have to fight- and I mean REALLY FIGHT like you think the guy is going to seriously injure you or even kill you- you must fight with ALL your speed and power. You must be as nasty, as brutal, and as absolutely ferocious as you can. Do not just kick him in the nads- for some like me, that just ticks me off more and the pain doesn't hit until later. You must end the fight as quickly as possible so he doesn't have any extra chances of cleaning you out. Vital areas include the eyes, ears, throat, knees and elbows. Remember that the only reason you would fight this guy (or anyone) is as an absolute last resort and only if it is a matter of grave bodily harm. If that's the case, hurt him as badly as you can as quickly as you can.
Hope this helps...

My answer is to walk away if you can, but you might want to see how you got into this perdicament in the first place. Ya, you have a disadvantage right off the top, but you can use that to offset it. Many people want to stand their ground, and duke it out. Wrong. You can use his weight to your advantage if he comes right at you. If you were to go with his power motion, that is something he may not be expecting. It is a way to give way to his power, but in the same instance he will try to over power you. You will need some training for something like this. I have helped train police departments just on this. If you can get away, then its shoe leather to the pavement and run. You live for another day, and try to not put yourself in that predicament. You will also have to worry about assult charges if you do hurt him. Keep that in the back of your mind also.

"What he said."
And then further,
Kung Fu San Soo.
My instructor is about 5'6" and 160lbs, not much to look at, but I've seen him toss a 225lb tank around like he was a rag doll.
How did he do it? He trained, and trained, and trained, and trained. . . . on and on.
Just bear in mind, that the small guy has a minor advantage. The big guy will fight the little one as he would fight anyone his own size. The little guy will fight as if he's going to get killed if he loses. Fight psychology.
You can also look up San Jitsu, I ran across it once in a martial arts seminar, and it piqued my interest. Nasty martial art that teaches all of the points on the body to grab and squeeze that make great big men's eyes water, and yelp like little girls.

First thing you have to remember is that the taller opponent will be off balance because he alread has to direct his energy downwards to attack, that makes it easier to use that momentum, and inertial energy agains him in a throw or toss. Nest thing to remember is that most fighters tend to ignore the lower areas like legs when it come to defensive techniques. Attack the legs, especially the ankles and knees, those are natural weak popint because s omuch of the body weight is supported by them. Also, taller opponents tend to rely on that reach advantage, get in close, to grappling range and you negate tha advantage and their extra reach becomes a liability rather than a strength. At close range, the longer reach take more time to draw bakc for a punch or kick and thus is unable to generate the accustomed amound of power behind it.
Don't try to match strength sith someone when there is THAT much of a size and weight discrepancy, instead, use their size against them attack targets that are in range, make them have to ben lower than normal by taking a low stance.
I used these tactics many times in my youth fight against people that were considerably larger in size and weight than I was and had great success. Aikido, japanese Jiu-Jitsu, combat Judo and several Kung Fu styles make use of just such tactics of using an opponents size and weight against them.

Speed and smarts. If the bigger guy is just an average jose he probably never took martial arts since he's trusted his size and strength to protect him. So you should be able to use his overconfidence against him. Ask your sensei to show you some moves for against a larger opponent, I know mine has shown me a few already since I'm short and have short arms and legs.

There are a number of ways. The most obvious is to go for a nut shot. Also, you could kick out his knees, take him down that way, pretty much depends on how the person is coming at you. The most important thing to remember is to not fight in anger, but to keep a level head, that way anger will not cloud your judgement. We wouldn't want someone to go around killing people.

Just give him a big hug and make sure that u are very close so that he won't be able to punch u or kick u.
That i how a 5'4 guy will defend himself against 6'4.

1. Avoid making the 6'4 250 pounder angry
2. Befriend the 6.4 250 pounder.
3. You may get profiecient in the martial arts, big deal. If you whup his *** and humiliate him, he might go home, get a gun and hurt you anyway.
Befriend him. Whats wrong with that. He may be really a teddy bear inside and become your best buddy.
