So that they can render a man defenseless (i.e. two hands-two boobs)
Realistically I would think that it would be so that after a baby finishes suckling that there will be another boob to draw from while the other refills.

Because we need two eyes to get the 2-D vision but girls do not want two boobs, but a matured woman need two for equal balancing, storing and dropping and feeding its children. We need two ears to listen the steriophonic voice, but girls do not want two boobs, but a matured women need two for feeding its children plenty as when one is down with quantity, to help it, the other pours and during the course the previous stores. You do not know its name. Its name is not boob.

Because, if she has a child, it can let her feed one by one so she gets less tired. If her husband want to such at the same time when her baby feeds, she can spare one of them for him. And the most simple, her husband can use both his hands for pressing her boobs while kissing her. Also if she has twins, she can feed them both at the same time.
