Its their ignorance.........

2007-01-01 21:19:59 · answer #1 · answered by @rrsu 4 · 0 0

Many religions have a set of morals and rules. Note that some of these rules were made by God-fearing people and people who wanted their beliefs to be central to popular belief. Everyone in a certain religion is set to believe that there is only one true path. If you follow another, you will burn. People wanted to spread the word they believed in. So they stated such things.

I was formerly Catholic and am now Wiccan. I'm not burning, am I? Nope! And my life has become so much better and I'm more in tune with my surroundings.

I'm Catholic, and I don't think Catholic people are better than non-Catholic people.

But I do believe my religion contains the fullness of religious truth -- and that other religions (even though they may contain some religious truth) do not.

So, in that sense, I think Catholicism is better that other religions -- but I'm talking about the religion, not the people.

Many people are too proud to understand that there is a very good possibility that all religions have at least part of the equation right and that difference of opinion does not denote ignorance.

Because they are taught to believe that there can only be one true religion, and since they believe theirs is right, they think it is the only right one. In truth, There is one true religion...or spiritual belief, FOR EACH PERSON!!! Any one who thinks that God/Goddess even wants us to all believe the same thing is mistaken. If you really want to make God happy, you will seek your own truth by looking within, and never, ever believe anything just because someone else told you to!

It's unfortunate, but people do not realize there is only one religion, and it is service to God, by whatever Name you may call Him: Jehovah, Christ, Krishna, Allah, whatever...you may change the name of your religion, but you can never get away from the fact of the true constitution of the soul: as servant. Once we try to become Master and usurp God's sovereignty, we fall into the trap that our religion is better than another's!

This is not the question of better, but question of who is right. Obviously if someone is right than they are better. God is one and truth also shall be one. Trinity cannot be true and wrong at the same time. So, if someone believes in trinity and other rejects, than the believer of trinity would also believe that rejecting trinity is evil. In the same way if someone believes that trinity is blasphemy, they would definitely consider believers of trinity are blasphemous people

Well, obviously, if one thinks they can see something they think is absolutely true, and can clearly see that someone else is wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt, it'd be in their nature to believe that the person who is "wrong" is inferior in some way in their ability to see this truth... In other words, people are arrogant by nature.

Its a common thing, a subconscious neurotic mechanism of compensation developed by the individual as a result of feelings of inferiority.

Those exhibiting the symptoms commonly project their feelings onto others they perceive as inferior to themselves. Accusations of arrogance and ********* are often made by others when referring to the individual exhibiting the symptons.

Behaviors related to this mechanism may include an exaggeratedly positive opinion of one’s worth and abilities, unrealistically high expectations in goals and achievements for oneself and others, vanity, extravagant style in dressing (with intention of drawing attention), pride, sentimentalism and affected exaltation, snobbism, a tendency to discredit other’s opinions, forcefulness aimed at dominating those considered as weaker or less important, credulity, and others.

Social aloofness, daydreaming, isolation could also be associated to them, as a way to evade the fear of failure related to the feelings of inadequacy to face real world.

The medical term is Superiority Complex, The term was coined by Alfred Adler (February 7, 1870 – May 28, 1937), as part of his School of Individual Psychology.

Because 'God' is understood as the highest of all beings. They believe they are 'inline' with this being and the rest of us are not. They dont often truly hate us. They just feel they are some how more privileged.
Think about it rationally. If you REALLY were good friends with the ACTUAL highest of all beings, you would in actual fact feel privileged. They just strongly BELIEVE that that is the case.
