India fought against the Dravids, the Aryans and more mordern against Dutch, Portugese, Americans and lastly British

Although the Indian sub-continent has always existed - under various names - the country of India did not come into existence until the British left in 1947, having unified it. Previously it had been divided into a number of smaller states - some of which at various times were briefly taken over by empires of one sort or another. Throughout history the people of the sub-continent - whenever they were not fighting among themselves - have struggled against waves of invaders from the north. The last and greatest of these was that led by Babur, called the Tiger, who captured Delhi in 1526 and founded the Mughal Empire. Babur was a descendant of Tamberlaine, and believed himself to be a descendant of Ghengis Khan. The invasion by Europeans from the South was a great strategic shock to native military commanders, and one with which they never properly came to terms with. Thus the British conquered the whole sub-continent, but on their departure partitioned it between India and Pakistan - basically along religious lines. Indian nationalism came into existence as a counter-force to British Imperialism. Thus modern India can be seen as a European creation, but was not the only such innovation that Indians are happy about and wish to keep.

For your question, I think India didn't fight as such. Cause when India was found (Napolean struck from somewhere), till then India itself was made of many small regions/countries. And they use to fight , win, lose with each other. While once other in world got to about India's gold treasures, and uno-so-united frontier, they attacked India....India defended....not attacked and fought.
