I did a project on my speech class -- filming myself while doing a speech -- I watched mine and I just realized that I blink too much. I thought that I should try a couple of times more just to be sure that it wasn't just the food I ate that day -- but still the same too much blinking results. I've asked my family and they're surprised that I didn't know about it. What do I do to stop from blinking too much -- some people might find it annoying/distracting --and I feel conscious about it now. Help. Thanks!

a couple of situations could be the reason:

if you wear makeup any type on or near your eyes- you might be allergic to the makeup you are using.

if your eyes are dry - you can use a tear drop that wettens your eyes- not Visen!

Too much blinking is a nervous habit. It is a "tic" so to speak and if your family knows about it and never told you, it must have been going on for a long time.
Children often develop this as a child as a response to stressful conditions or anxieties and may be easy to correct.
You can ask your family doctor to check you out for vitamin deficiencies or anything thaat might cause this condition. I knew a boy who did this at a young age and his doctor was able to correct the problem.

From seeing people at my school it is nerves.
I used to have a habit of blinking, it became an OCD
i try to forget about it.
So its either nerves or maybe the lighting from the camera or the room?
Depending what sort of camera it is.
If you stress yourself too much about it then it will probably become worse.
Try not to worry
see for yourself if you blink too much, like film you by yourself at home where you are comfortable and play it back.
Try to reassure yourself

it could just be a nervous habbit. or your eyes could be dried out, try some eye drops. or it could be your just thinking about it to much. try not to think about it and maybe you wont do it as much.
