I know how you feel. I recently got back into cutting myself. Its an addiction that most people dont understand. I've been called a freak and crazy and told I only do it for attention (even though I hide my arms and only a FEW people know that I even do it). I dont know why you do it..Maybe because you feel you deserve it..maybe its to take your mind off of mental pain..Maybe you just deal better with physical pain than you do with emotional pain. I know these are all factors for me. I also know that when I start cutting, I get this feeling. I wouldnt describe it as "good" but its strong and addictive and I crave that feeling when I'm not cutting.

Like its already been said, you (and I) need to find alternatives. I have a journal I write in whenever I feel like cutting..I write pages and pages and by the time everything is out..the urge has gone away. I started exercising when the urge to cut hits me. I do it until I cant move anymore and it kinda resembles the satisfied feeling I get from cutting. Only this time I'm doing something good for my body, not something bad. I also look at the scars on my arms and realize there not going to go away..I cant get rid of the ones I have but I can stop myself from causing new ones. I know from experience that this doesnt always work ,....but you want to stop, and thats a start. Youre not worthless, and you dont deserve the pain.

You just need to find an outlet. I think that for the most part, people who cut themselves are very passionate people. We tend to feel things more deeply and thats why we start cutting in the first place. But if you can be so passionate about cutting, then you have what it takes to become passionate about other things. create an outlet thats good for you. A few of mine are music, art, and meditation. Im also planning on starting guitar lessons. Get yourself into something and whenever you're down and want to cut, you'll have something else to turn to.

Hi. I feel your pain, I really do, and there's a hell of a lot of scars on my left arm, and a new cut hidden by a (rather funky) plaster on my right.

What keeps me going without cutting is thinking that people are gonna see, and you have to cover them up, and that'll mean either wearing plasters (which is almost as bad as wearing nothing on them) and long sleeved shirts, and then you could get hot :[

Plus, there are loads of alternatives to letting out your anger/depression. My therapist gave them to me, how about you try to see one? Or a doctor? Anyway, the alternatives are..

Holding an ice cube - You feel pain, but it's harmless
Drawing the slits instead of cutting them - But people might think it's a bit weird if they see
Screaming into a pillow - Trust me, it works
Talking to someone you trust for cheering up or guidance - This could be a friend, boyfriend, relative, neighbour?
Trying to sleep? - You could feel more refreshed and have forgotten all about what made you sad in the first place.

Also, try watching TV. Try not to be alone while you're so upset, you'll get more tempted.
Good luck! And you're not alone.

First you have to find out why you do it.
Then manipulate your life to considerable circumstances that help you deal with those reasons.

BUT whatever you do PLEASE don't turn yourself in... I mean going off and telling everyone... especially if you're under 18.

Thats a great way to get yourself hospitalized, medicated and misreable for life. Your friends will talk about you, every move you make will be watched, and you'll have no one to trust.
I would know.

I'm not trying to scare you. I just want you to understand this.
You don't have to do it. You're the only one that controls yourself. You can figure it out on your own.

well, look at it this way:
what are you really gaining out of cutting?
you are just hurting yourself, and wasting your time. talk to your friends, or if you dont feel you can, there are lots of online help sites. just focus on the good in your life, and find a hobby to take your mind away from things. remember you're not alone.

on the upshot, it looks like you've got really good knife printing. you can see the practice in the letters, its remarkable. i see this as a problem that solves itself, both from your perspective, and everyone elses.

Try staying away from sharp objects and wearing gloves. A straight jacket would work well also.
