Most Americans don't agree with our current policies in the Mid-East. I'm not pounding my moral pulpit. As a realist, those with the biggest guns make the rules. We should not be trying to export democracy to cultures where freedom and democracy are not possible. Almost without exception the Middle East is run by theocratic dictatorships ... it shouldn't really matter to us. On the other hand, it is no secrete that Arab Muslims want to turn the planet into a huge caliphate. I believe, my country, the US, should walk quietly and carry a big stick. Give peace a chance ... if attacked, lay waste the offending country. No occupation, no rebuilding. I'm tired of hearing third world terrorist dirt bags whine about how badly they are treated by the US.

Why do people think all Americans are the same? I am not like other people and I don't like people assuming I am. I don't believe America is any more or less moral than any other place. Humanity sucks for the most part all the way across the board. The government in the US right now is all about propaganda. I can't wait for this regime to be done with so we can try to get someone better, but it's probably not going to happen. I could move to Canada, but my whole family lives here.

Please don't judge me by the geographical location of my birth.

Hey, I voted against Bush in both elections (and in his gubenatorial elections in Texas, too!) Actually, look at the numbers and you'll see that Bush LOST if you count popular vote--he only won by electoral vote (and even that's arguable). So at least HALF of Americans weren't behind him and his policies. I helped vote in our new Democratic Congressional majority. I was against the Iraq War before it was cool to be against the Iraq War. The whole "Morality Police" business makes me sick, too. As my favorite bumper sticker says, "No one died when Clinton lied."

But all that said? While I don't love where our country has gone over the last six years, I love our foundation, and I truly hope we find our way back. SOON. Of course I hope God (wherever she is) blesses America. I hope she saves the Queen, too, and helps La France Vive, and... whatever the other countries' slogans are.

As for the domination of the media? Hey, what can I say... we've got a kick-butt entertainment industry....

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm proud to be an American, but it's really embarrassing how some Americans try to make the rest of the world believe we ALL think we're "the great savior" or some stupid thing like that.

We're not all brain-dead hypocritical war-mongers. Most of us aren't Christian either (though the Christians won't admit that). Most of us are tolerant, law-abiding, not-so-terribly bad people that have nothing against any other country or culture or religion.

Being American, I would have to take issue with the notion that "Americans" rave about morals. While we certainly have our share of loud-mouths when it comes to morality, I think it's incorrect to paint every American with the same brush, just as I think it would be unreasonable to make a blanket statement about any other group or nationality.

Hmm,an american night shift x-ray tech. I had no idea I was so powerful...lol. Rave about morals? me?" ..never. You on the other hand seem to rave about americans (amoral patriots). Now just what's the difference between you and them again?

Kind of like we in America get tired of the rest of the world complaining about our morals while not saying anything about mass murder and genocide going on all over the Middle East and Africa. Where in Europe are you from? Wonderful France that likes to mistreat it's own immigrants so badly, with a police force that can hold you for months without charges, and was caught slipping millions to Saddam behind the UN's back, while he gassed Kurds and starved Shiites? You say you like intelligent conversation in your profile, then you throw a shut the **** at us. Go back to Australia, At least I have respect for them. Europeans are nothing anymore but whiners and criers, without the courage to do anything themselves. They are not mad about the US invading Iraq, they are mad because we did not wait for the European seal of approval. As if we need that!

The patriots that do that do not represent America. The same way Muslim extremists do not represent Islam. The same way Christian extremists do not represent Christianity.
