Got an email...says: "may God bless you with the truth. I feel sorry that you feel there is no hell. You must stop living in the cloud your in. If there is no hell, then why obey God. All the false though you have is satan making you think that. Do you realize that with a door this wide open that you can be led to do anything!? This is a message from God, wake up and let God really lead you. If you are a false Christian you are going to get the hottest flame in Hell, I only offer that God may put his love on you because you have been hurt sometime or somewhere. It was not God that hurt you it was you. You are the reason you are hurt, God showed you the truth and you could not handle it. If you are running away from God do you think it will get better? You love God and you know it, why are you running? god loves you, I feel sorry for you. Where is the lack of love but within yourself? All you have to do is pray and God will bless you with the truth you want? May God bless you. "

I obey God not because of the fear of hell but because I love him. I do believe people who says God will burn people in hell are only professing christians but not real christians.

“Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”—Job 34:10.

There are some who hold this philosophy.... Because they were brought up believing it to be true..... They follow a strict guideline to be Christian, but it doesn't mean that they are not.....

It just means that they are judgemental of others because of their faith.......

But, you call youself Christian too..... and your post was just as questioning as you question her...........As if accusatory as it was asking.....

The email you quote is actually pretty stupid. It's not just unchristian, it's barely coherent. I guess your correspondent got this out just before they put the straitjacket back on.

Don't take this stuff to heart. The voice speaking here is so oblivious to reality he/she doesn't seem to even know how these words can hurt. That's the real test, isn't it? I mean, even if you're wrong about this doctrine -- heck, we're all wrong about a lot of things -- it's no reason to go attacking you like this. They've no right. Lack of love is the surest sign of the absence of Christ.

It is very clear what is written in the bible. Specifically John 3:16... I obey the Lord not only because i do not want to go to hell, but because i love Him. For i recognize the truth that APART FROM GOD, I AM NOTHING!

Another thing i noticed, we have d`same avatar..:)

The verse you quoted is saying that God will not let wickedness go unpunished forever and that he will bless righteousness no matter how long it takes. You can see it when you read the next verse. Hell is a real place and I would do whatever it takes to keep from going there. Also, if people are told that hell doesn't exist then they might not do whatever they can to keep from going there.

It may be best to remember that belief in Christ alone determines whether one is Christian, and the attendant beliefs and consequent actions determine only whether one is a good Christian or a bad one. C.S. Lewis addressed this well in his introduction to "Mere Christianity."

I'm not sure she explained whatever she was trying to explain in the best context, and I don't know the original, either, but I don't think it's possible to judge a state of relationship with Christ simply from the above email.

I first want to say that I had to give a thumbs up to the following people: voodoid, starryeye..., elee, The Prophet enslavement, and backinbow.

I would never called myself a Christian, and I would be insulted if someone else did. Not because I don't believe what they believe, but because of people like the lady who emailed you. The only Christians that I know of, who are truly enlightened and evolved...at least as much as most people on earth are able to be...are those whose beliefs are similar to those of Unity Church.

Excuse me Prof Lee...but I have personally never heard of any pagans who even believe in hell, and to the best of my knowledge most Christians do...I would say more than 90%.

You are right to be concerned by your friend.
Her religion is certainly not doing her any good and to convince her otherwise would be more bother than it is worth.
Best that you body swerve her and eventually cut off all contact with her and meet normal people. She sounds like a manic depressive.
She would put anyone off religion, probably the only good thing in this whole scenario.

whoever sent you that email is exactly right...There is a hell and a devil that wants you to burn there with him, but their is also a God that loves you and tries daily to show you the path to truth and righteousness

i feel horrible for all of you that disagree with me, but its the truth...and if you do not believe the truth now, you will after death. In fact i feel i need to pray for all of you right now to wake up to how close this world really is to the coming of the lord (the Rapture). The book of Revalations speaks much about how times will change.

At least three things i can think of right now that it says will happen before the coming of the lord has in fact occured:
-children and parents will hate and kill each other thinking it is the right thing to do when its really in fact wrong (ex: abortion...it doesnt state abortion, im just saying that)
-every country in the world will start turning against all the other countries(many countries are starting to turn right now)
-the two towers will fall(it says alot about the two numbers 9 and 11 also) ( the twin towers both fell on 9/11)
