Dogs that are bred for fighting and killing should be classed as 'dangerous wild animals' and caged like Lions and Tigers.

If the Law didn't prevent Lions from being owned by the moronic low life's I'm sure that we would see young male tatooed yobs with Lions walking about parks with studded leather collars just to boost their male ego's.

These dogs are dangerous unpredictable and should never be allowed, but we again will ALL SHOUT and do nothing until the next time when it turns into 'Groundhog Day' and repeats itself.

The poor dogs never asked to be bred in the first place: spay the breeders! They're the ones responsible for the kids' misery. Animals are animals, can't blame them.

Aren't you supposed to be at work? Hm?

Instead of putting a full blown blanket over him to stop air circulation, try a lighter much thinner sheet. Often times the blanket makes the dog realize that it's time to go to sleep and it is less likely for them to realize that you are up and moving around when you wake up. The only reason he's waking you up so early (if it's a puppy) is because in general they have small bladders, give it sometime and take him out a little later then usual.

It's not the dogs that should be classified as "dangerous wild animals," it's the low life's that own them and are training them! These so called macho men use these dogs as an extension of their penises. They make them feel big when they are just little ignorant slime bags, no different then the thugs that carry guns.
It is the owners of these dogs that should be put in prison.

Today we live in such a confrontational society that I personally believe the behavior of domesticated pets is changing/evolving just as society's behavior. With animal abuse on the rise (dog fighting, etc.), owner's of pets weaning the young from their mothers much too early (ie. 4-6 wks.), the displacement of pets due to the irresponsibility of pet owners, etc. The public must take into account that we are seeing more aggressive behavior in the domesticated animal than ever before. This is not to mention the aggressiveness that we see in our young people today, not only our teenagers but our pre-school children as well

omg get a life! 1stly its cruelty to animals to cage them up, 2ndly you are only sying this because you are afraid of dogs and 3rdly it is stupid to have a 'dangarous' dog if you have young children and a frail old lady so the people who's child/gran that was got what they disserved and if they do put that dog down then i assure you that there will be a protest in london from people who do see some sense.
lastly lions and tigers are WILD animals who belong in the WILD. dogs are DOMESTIC animals, domestic coming from the latin word domus or house, therefore they belong at HOME and its the people who are responsible for the animals and just one more point, in the USA it legal to have big cats as pets if you get a special liscence that states that you are fully able to control the beast.

good question. but any animal can attack it's owner or anyone else. it is all down to the animals breeding and how it has been treated in its life and how it is being treated just before it attacks anyone.
a family member was recently attacked by the family dog, she was 12 and the dog just a pup that she had been trying to restrain from chasing a neighbourhood cat, the dog turned around and bit her on the arm, she screamed and her dad had to thump the dog hard to get it to relese her. her dad and the rest of the family me included wanted to have he dog put down, but the girl who had been bitten said she did not want the animal put down. so what can you do?

until we all realise that any animal is capable of attacking any one or anything or anyother animal for no good reason except it is having a bad day, the kind of attacks we see infrequently in the news such as the tragic case reported of the 5yr old killed by a family pet will happen. there is no way to prevent it.

to muxzzle a dog or cage it or for that any animal is cruel and i do not agree with it. but then i think anyone who realy loves animals would not keep pets or keep animals in zoos. think about it how would you feel. put your self in the place of a caged animal or a family pet wouldn't you snap one day if you had the same routine or if something suddenly changed?

if you say no you would never snap you are fooling yourself.

not all dogs are bred for killing and so how do you distinguish between the animals of the same breed that are bred quite happily and for the domestic family pets and those that are bred and are treated and trained to kill?

there is no legislation and worse no way that that could be inforced. remeber any animal can be trained to kill not just certain breeds of dogs.

it is down to the owners and how they train there dogs from puppies. some owners are responsible and others are down right idiots to be frank.
and as for lions anyone with enough money can buy one and worse get a licence to keep it, or worse still keep it in secret at the family home for example.

how does the asker propose we stop animals from attacking our families?

i say it is nature and we can legislate as much as we like but inforcment is going to be very difficult, unless you turn over enforcement to an organisation such as the RSPCA and provide tham with government funding (adding yet more money to the tax bill), or do we accept the fact that in this life animals will attack other animals (humans may seem more inteligent than other animals but we are still animals are we not), that means that some people will be killed and or injured by both domestic pets and in the case of steve irwin killed while interacting with wild life.

and the asker is right shouting and talking will solve nothing.

the only way to guarantee that no humans will be acttacked by domestic and wild animals is to ban all pets and set up an area for the animals and an area for humans fencing off all the animals from the humans, that would be a very dull and depressing world.
and while i think my relative was wrong in her decission to save the pet (keep it alive) I have to admire her compassion as she demonstrated that she grasped the complexity of life by that iu mean she knows that animals by there very nature can attack anyone or anything; and so putting them down may in the short term be reactionary and be seen by some as the right thing to do me included, it is in the long run not the right thing to do every animal has a right to life, and should be given a second chance if it repeats the mistake and shows agression again then you can consider either attempting to retrain the animal to remove some of the aggression or if that fails then consider lethal force and terminating the animals life.

this is just my opinion, right or wrong as it may be.

The breeders and the pet shops would suffer if we placed any restriction on their trade. I think that the aggression in society fostered and encouraged by low education and lack of aspiration is bringing in enough money to make the occassional horrific death just about acceptable.

I don't think this relates to military but I agree... I don't like killer dogs... Also tigers and lions aren't really dangerous animals, if you leave them alone and avoid them they won't hurt you, and they aren't trained to kill..

It's actually against the law to breed 'killer' dogs, or 'hunting' dogs. i.e. like the pit bull terrier.
But as with many things nobody regulates them.

After you get the genetic code of the killer dawgts, then eliminate them all. Then you can get the geneticcode of the ones that taught them to be killers dawgs, and eliminate them. Then find the genetic marker that identifies all of that type of human being, and eliminate them. Then we will all be free of those annoying leather studded belts.

There is no such thing as "killer dogs." You cannot blame a dog for being trained to attack and hurt. You cannot fairly propose breed restrictions because there will always be exceptions to every rule or stereotype with regard to the breed.
